  1. We are currently on Canada/New England cruise with stop in Boston. We did not book the Hop on Hop off bus with Princess. We had gotten off the ship in Saguenay, Canada - the HOHO was located right off the ship and paid $30.00 CAD ($22.00 USA). Very convenient. Now this morning we get off the ship and see the HOHO bus - asked the uniformed man where to get tickets and how much. He said $50.00 per person and we had to walk all the way to the end of terminal and look for a white tent. There are currently 3 ships in port and we are at the far end, so it was at least a mile walk to get to the tent. There were 50 -100 people standing in line waiting for the bus to show up. We waited in line to buy tickets and then we were told it was $63.00 pp + tax, so around $70.00 each. I heard one of the workers say that they did not know that there would be 3 ships in port and they hadn't planned on so many people. We decided not to wait or pay that price. Princess excursion to buy HOHO is on the website for $59.00 pp On Line when I googled HOHO Boston - $44.00 - $50.00 pp depending on the company you want to purchase the tickets from Outside on your own - $70.00 Next time I will do more research for using the HOHO bus. When we did our Baltic cruise years ago, every stop on the HOHO buses and they were right outside the port close to the ship
  2. We are currently on Caribbean, on a Canada/New England cruise. I have no knowledge of the covid positive cases on board. My husband and I have worn our masks in pubic places on board for the past 18 days (we are on a B2B) - we are in the minority - I would guess 10% are wearing masks - all crew working indoors are wearing masks, those working on open deck do not have to wear the masks.
  3. We received a phone call from Guest Services last night. They wanted to check on us and asked if everything was okay with the room. I told them everyone had worked very hard to clean up the water and we were fine, carpet still damp in some areas, but mostly dry. Guest Services apologized and said they would put $75.00 on our account for the inconvenience we went through. I thanked them - today is Boston, tomorrow is sea day and I will go shopping in the Princess shops. Good Travels everyone
  4. Right at the dock where they drop you off from your tender is a little hole in the wall (really small) you can get coffee, pastries, sandwiches. The blueberry pie is $5.00, very good. They have other stuff and it is very busy -
  5. there is the open area between the Maritime Museum and the ship that has all kinds of booths that sell food. Try Davy's or Dave's - cost is $29 CAD for a lobster roll (current conversion rate is $1.30 US
  6. If it is marked VIP then I think you will receive special gifts during the course of the cruise. We are on a B2B, the first cruise was VIP and the second is not, but today we received a plate of 10 chocolates and a thank you card from the casino We asked at the casino cage about the letter giving us a new offer at the end of the first cruise (which we did not receive) but she said we should get the offer at the end of this cruise - Our points started over after the completion of the first cruise, hoping they will add the two point totals together, that should give us a good offer.
  7. ship is only 2/3 capacity. Our cabin has no smell and we just returned to our cabin after going into Bar Harbor. They have a huge fan blowing on the carpet and it is doing the job. We have only 3 more days, so not worried about moving. We are on vacation and this is just a tiny bump in the road - not going to let it ruin our trip
  8. Not just the toilets. Last night was formal night. We came back after dinner to change and I saw water spot on the rug near the closet area. Our steward was outside, so I told him and he said he would get maintenance We changed our clothes and went out, came back two hours later and we had two maintenance men in the hallway with the panel in the ceiling open. We had two buckets in the cabin and wet carpet in front of the bed and along the slider- told that the spa on deck 16 was sloshing the water all over due to the weather and it was coming down the walls. Don't know how many other cabins has the same problem. I went to the pool area and got 6 beach towels and we used that to soak up some of the damp carpet. They said we could get another room for the night, but we didn't want the hassle. We are now in Bar Harbor, we have laid down dry towels and if the problem was as they say, it should dry out. Will find out more later - not sure deck 15 is the best deck to have our cabin.
  9. do not pay anything extra. It is their error.
  10. I think a 10:30 flight is too early, would not book anything earlier than noon We have gotten off ship at 7:30a and sometimes it has been after 9:00a
  11. i spoke too soon. We again had problems last night. Had to call Guest Services. My husband told me that I could use the toilet by the pool and I told him that if they did not get the problem fixed I would take a bucket to guest services and use the "public" forum to do my business so everyone would know that there was a problem - luckily for me and everyone on board - problem was fixed again, but I am really getting tired of saying a pray before each flush.
  12. we are currently on Caribbean - deck 15 forward toilet would not flush - called guest services and they said that there were several cabins with problems and she would add our cabin to the list. A few minutes later the toilet flushed by itself. I went in and flushed it again to see if it would work and it did. I opened my cabin door and a maintenance man was looking in the maintenance closet. I let him know that our toilet was working and so far it has continued to function
  13. last night at another table was a woman wearing jean shorts (baggy) and an old t-shirt.
  14. my husband was part of the slot tournament on the Ruby in June. It was handled very well, very well organized. He said there were over 400 in the first round, went down to 200 and then down to 50. He made it to the final 50. It was held over 3 to 4 days
  15. i reported on another OP - but will repeat. We took a cab from LGA to our hotel in Brooklyn. Cost was $32.00 and we tipped $8.00 next morning we asked for a cab to take us to the port - shorter distance than LGA to hotel, we got a private car, not taxi - he was given the wrong address by his dispatch and we had a 30 minute drive around Brooklyn, before I got upset with him and he finally got us to the port - cost $35,00 - I should have disputed, but let it go
  16. no one looked at our passports - we just showed our medallions to get back on the ship
  17. observation. We are on board currently. We were suppose to leave NYC at 7:00p. We were on our balcony and a view of the parking lot. at 6:50p two buses pulled up and people got off and they removed luggage. About 20 -30 guests. We did not leave port until around 8:00p Whether these were people flying in and the buses came from the airport I don't know, but I think so.
  18. The Governor's Pub was the only place we saw lobster roll - not many easting places. The have two menus - the lobster roll and other lobster dishes were on a separate menu. We will not go back there after having to great Lobster Rolls in Charottletown and Halifx - will be going back there on the return trip. The only food truck we saw was in Newport, RI
  19. Last gift was a bag with a floppy hat/skipper hat (princess emblem all over), a beach chair cover, packing cubes and a princess flag. Packing cubes will be nice, won't fly the flag.
  20. we paid $20 for 3 0z lobster roll in Newport RI we are now hitting the Canada stops and they have all been 4oz roll for $29.00CAD or $22,00 usa
  21. today was Port Charlottetown plenty of places for lobster as you get off the ship. We walked around and ended up at the Peake's Wharf area, not too far walk to the left of ship. Saw a Davy;s Lobster 4 oz lobster roll and chips were $29.00 CAD - for a few dollars more (don't know how much a few dollars more) they will give you 5 oz. We ordered it warm with butter - very good again you will see lots of places and they are pretty much the same price.
  22. We are on a cruise currently that is booked as Casino VIP We received a lanyard with our name and the date of the cruise with VIP Casino Drink Card" Our 2nd night we received a plate of chocolates 4th night we received a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries last night we got a bottle of Brut - Prestige Collection 1887 Mionetto The drink card you show to the server and they bring you any drink - no charge - no limit
  23. this has been my experience. say you are offered a free inside cabin go to the cruise on the princess website and look at the categories; inside = $799, oceanview = $899, balcony $1199 etc if you want to move up to Oceanview they would charge you $200 ($100pp) if you want to moe up to balcony you would pay $800 ($400 pp) we are on a cruise which we received a free inside and it cost us $1200 to get a balcony
  24. I don't play black jack, but slots. When you first go to the casino you tap your medallion to the slot machine. A menu comes up and you have to create your account. You are asked your birthdate and you choose a four digit numer code. You will use the code everytime you want to play on a machine. You now put money in your casino bank that money amount is charged to your cabin. So let's say you want $500. You now have casino money and you can choose to play part or all on the machine. Once you are tired of playing that machine and want to move on you hit the cash out button and it puts the money back to your "bank" - you now go to another machine and pick from your bank how much you want to play. All monies are charged to your cabin when you choose to get more money. If you have OBC on your cabin, it will be reduced down. Your $500 minus the $100 obc - you now have $400 on your cabin. At the end of the cruise if you have money left on your casino bank you go to the cashier and get any monies out. If you want you can take that cash and go to guest services and apply it to your cabin account.
