  1. If you don't have to fly take the cheapest one
  2. picked up a food cover at the dollar store (now $1.25 store). it is hard plastic that covers the plate.
  3. I have found that the flight costs are the same flying within the U.S. Flying internationally Ezair is a better price.
  4. We have done a slot tournament on Celebrity and on Princess. They both worked the same, so I am assuming that Holland will do it about the same. Assume 200 people invited. Each round is 10 players They have a certain number of machines set aside to do the tournament. You are in groups and they do a draw to give you a machine. The time is set and you hit the button as fast as you can to get the "winning" money - on some you have ballons or some other items that float across the screen and with your other hand you touch those items to get more "money". At the end of the time - say 3 minutes, the scores of each machine are recorded. At the end of the first round they cut the lowest scores and say the next 50 more to the next round (or more depending on total number that started). It continues until the final round and the highest score wins They drag it out over a few days. The first round is day one, then next round day two or three, etc Nice for the final winner and the rest get casino play money
  5. Pre covid cruise our first with Princess was a 28 day out of San Pedro (LA) to Tahiti and back. We got to the port and stood in line with others to give our luggage to the porter. The couple in front of us were French - spoke little english, but were digging in their pockets for money, which they tried to give to the porter - it was Euro coins, and the porter yelled at them. I yelled at him to leave them alone and told them to ignore him. He pulled a wad of money out of this pocket and said he didn't need their quarters, he had plenty of money. I refused to give him our bags and reported him. Tipping is optional Tipping is based on service proved Tippping is at your discretion Tipping is not manatory If you get tips be thankful for whatever you get. end of story
  6. This is info on American Airlines. We booked business class for flights on our up coming B2B. We are flying SNA (John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California) to La Guardia for the start of our NYC 10 days cruise that ends in Quebec City and then returning Quebec City to NYC. We fly home from JFK to SNA. We had to book the cruises separate and had to book the flights as one way for each cruise. When we booked the first flight I was allowed to pick my seats then with the EZair rep (this was 8 - 9 months in advance of the flight. no charge When we booked the return flight, it would not allow me to pick our seats. So I waited and checked each month and then last week, (about 45 days before the flight) I was able to pick our seats. No charge Checking out the prices: going economy seating - we would have to pay extra for luggage - going for 20 days on the cruise and we knew we would have 3 to four pieces of luggage - and you pay for carry on - also pay for seat selection and then if we wanted to get better seating. We bit the bullet and booked business class - no extra charges and better seating At the time I booked and paid the same day with Ezair we paid $1900 for two for the round trip air fare. currently when I do a mock booking, the same flights would cost us $5,800 + and regular economy for two is $1900+ with out the extra charges for luggage, etc. We have avoided flying in the past for cruises, but last year we decided to do this cruise and decided to make sure we were comfortable coming and going. This will probably be our last flying to cruise, unless it is flying only on the west coast (out of southern california to alaska or vancouver).
  7. happy you got it "all" refunded, even if it is FCC. Nice to know. We leave for our cruise in 26 days and if something happens with our flights and we miss the boat - nice to know that they do come throught
  8. when you gamble on board, you use your medallion to active your account on the machine. You create a pin number and every time you sit at the machine you put in how much you want to gamble on that machine. The money is charged to your room. If you leave that machine, any monies left on the account is put back on your "bank". Go to the next machine and play with the "bank money" your money charged to your cabin can be offset by your OBC. Dont bother putting more OBC on your cabin. Wait until you are on board and then charge everything to cabin.
  9. we are on a 10 day cruise with no beverage package, so I ordered two water packages. I also bring on the powder gatorade mix and lemonade mix. When we have the beverage package we also bring a bottle water back to the cabin in the evening.
  10. in 2019 when we took our grandkids: two groups, 3 - 6 years and 6 - 12, and then they had a teen area. The younger kids had to be signed in and out everytime. they were open in the morning and again in the afternoon (sea days). You had to sign them up for days that the ship was in port. Our granddaughters liked it and went every day
  11. Our flight was out of Orange County, Ca left at 9:05 a, got to SF airport around 10:30, we sat on runway waiting for a gate to open up for 30 minutes. Got to gate around 11:00 and got to the port around 12:00. I figured there would be a line, due to past reviews, but we were lucky that the weather was beatiful and not too bad waiting outside. Once we got on board, we were too late to get lunch in the MDR by 2 minutes. - closes at 1:00p for lunch They really need to get more people checking everyone in.
  12. we flew in the morning of the cruise, and did the Princess transportation. I think we paid $39 each. We got off the plane, headed for the baggage area, there was a Princess person with a sign at the bottom of the stairs in the baggage area. She told us to get our bags and go to the exit area and find the next Princess host. We found her and she directed us to the bus and we boarded. It was a 40 minute bus ride to port. The dropped us off at the parking lot, told us to leave the bags at the bus and they would have them delivered to the ship and we got in line outside. (took an hour) to get inside the building.
  13. have your passport your covid card shot record your arriv can - you can print it out or email it to yourself copies of your travel summary from the princess website I have printed copies of everythnig just incase I also make copies of drivers license, medical cards etc.
  14. We had cancelled our reservation for one night and found out that we were cancelled for the rest of the cruise - Do not cancel - just go where ever you want and show the the next night. waiting outside the port 27 to get inside the building - we were in line for over an hour. Very slow checking people in - hopefully they have hired more people. You will love this cruise - Alaska is beautiful
  15. ship medallion that you use to get on and off the ship with.
  16. My response is more to spending the money for your bucket list "Tahiti". We did this cruise 6 years ago and I would not do it again, even if it was free. 1. Tahiti is one stop - one day out of 28 2. It is hot and humid - much like Hawaii 3. You have a lot of sea days. I can handle sea days, but 7 or 8 in a row is a lot I would go to Alaska again and again. Not Tahiti others will disagree with me, but give it some thought.
  17. we downloaded the app to my husbands phone, I completed the form and emailed it to myself and printed it out. I did not show it in SF I did not show it on Ruby - the platter told you to download the app everyday and our steward asked if we had - but they did not check our paper work We walked off the ship in Prince Rubert - walked by two "custom" "Canadian personnel" and walked around and came back - walked passed the same two guys and I asked them directly if we need to show the ArriveCan and they said no, just show us your medallian. We did and back on the ship we went.
  18. We were on the Ruby, 10 day roundtrip out of San Francisco. We had one stop in Canada - Prince Rubert. No Canadian authority or ship personnel checked our ArriveCan No one
  19. On our last cruise (june 9th to Alaska) there were 2500 passengers (appox) over 1,000 were first time cruisers with Princess 700 were plat and elite
  20. Don't know their system, same as the other casinos on land. How much you put in the machine, you get points. My husband and I both play in the casino, have a budget we play on, but if you get lucky and win and can play more back into the machines then you get more points. My husband gets different offers than me. We only book casino cruises, and have taken five in the past 6 months and have 3 more booked for the future.
  21. Unfortunately, we have to check our accounts monthly and make sure that nothing is removed and everything is the way it is suppose to be. If not ---- call the Casino department and hound them until they make it right. If they are going to make an offer, they need to honor it. They make you pay for the cruise (your portion) up front. At one point we had over $8,000 in their pockets. We have currently taken 5 cruises since in the past 7 months and we have 3 more coming up.
  22. I had 3 phone calls to the casino department and 2 emails. Yesterday I received an email telling me that my account had been corrected. Yes the $300 casino play for my husband and myself is back on the booking, but no where do I see the entry into the slot play. When you send the email you get the generic response that your email will be answered in order and no need to send multi emails. I send an email everyday and I printed out my emails to them just in case.
  23. you have to pay a $200 deposit per person. You received the $200 per person back on your account as OBC once you board the ship. This can be used in the casino, since it is a credit on your cabin account.
