  1. The price of eggs has nothing to do with inflation. Millions of chickens were killed off due to Avin Flu (aka, bird flu) out in the mid-west. Breeding chickens take longer to grow before laying eggs vs the chickens you consume. Don’t look for the prices for eggs to drop until July.
  2. You could sail out of Puerto Rico and see them pull out their own instruments on the pool deck and start playing as if they were your entertainment on the cruise. Yes, you would leave in a flash.
  3. I need one then, I lost my car at a garage once. It took me 10 minutes riding up and down the elevator looking for it. 😂
  4. Celebrity has Beyond the Podium speakers on their long cruises on sea days. There are about two speakers, one talks about the destinations (they aren't pushing anything, no excursions) and someone else does topics. On the Transpacific cruises, there is (was on mine) a speaker who talked about each of the islands we were going to visit and another spoke on another topic (one included the notorious women in the Wild Wild West). On the Panama Canal cruise I did there was a couple, he spoke about the different wildlife, the animals in the ocean, birds, etc. that we saw out there and she spoke about the island and their history as well as the bygone era of Ocean Liners (just my op - I am aware that Cunard is considered one). They spoke the two hours before lunch. This gives yo something else to do other than sit out and tan during the times you shouldn't be laying out in the sun (if that is not your thing).
  5. Thousands of Canadian tourist have been trying to leave Mexico since Christmas Eve, to get back to home on an airline called SunWing, the exact same issue that people here have with SWA. And those people are just as pissed off as those flying SWA. And you can bet there are many in Canada that lost out on their vacation trying to get to Mexico. As someone mentioned, it happened earlier this year with other major airlines, and SWA was still flying and they didn't have the same issues. It's not the first time and won't be the last. The week before Christmas many were complaining about British Airways because of issues people had with them getting to their destination and or while their bags were still in London. It surely doesn't matter if it's a low cost carrier or a airline like United, AA or Delta, BA or whatever, it can and will happen again. As for those on the upcoming cruise, those people had well enough time to plan ahead, to either drive, take Amtrak if you're on the east coast or book another airline. If they had the proper insurance to cancel for any reason, they could. Otherwise, they loose out if they didn't rebook with another carrier, etc.
  6. Oh really, I have stayed at resorts, hotels and Vacation Clubs and I paid more at a Vacation Club than on a Cruise, you haven't proven anything.
  7. Why do I need to? I have three lined up next year, why would I need to royal up when I book a cruise I pick the room I want to stay in, no need to worry if I am going to bid up just to get a room. I already picked it.
  8. Well, I guess you have never stayed in an Air BnB where you would have to clean up your mess daily. Or that tells me a lot about your lifestyle.
  9. As I stated, who knew so many had maid service. Some of you all act as if you can't live without the room being cleaned. Stop being messy, then you won't have to worry about how many times they clean up your mess.
  10. Oh, I know who the tip money goes to, but NCL is charging another increase by $4 per person per day or $56 for an interior for 7 days to say it's for the crew, which would total almost $6 for the year is ridiculous. I would love to hear from a NCL a waiter, room steward, etc, that says they got an additional COLA (Cost of Living Allowance) again this year. I don't believe it.
  11. I cruised with Celebrity and they gave a extra point a day if you gave up the 2nd cleaning and we still got turndown service. If Royal did that, I am sure you would sign up for it. Right now, the once a day cleaning is only being piloted on Quantium of the Seas as a test, like Symphony is doing a test with a different dinning menu. I am pretty sure they know the majority of the rooms don't need a 2nd cleaning. I remember when people boo booed when the state room attendants didn't have an assistant working with them. Geez 😒 Who knew so many had maid service at home the way some of you all are carrying on.
  12. I vote cancel the cruise if you can, that will teach them about their ridiculous daily service fee, which I don't believe will go to the crew.
  13. You will more than likely get your money credited back within a week. 30 days is a standard timeframe they give.
  14. If you are paying for this trip, why should she complain what type of room she's getting. She's 20, if she wants a balcony, just have her hand over the difference to get a balcony. Otherwise, I sure wouldn't worry since you are doing more than enough with the trip to Disney as well.
  15. As soon as you come out the port, there will be someone offering to take you via van for $10, once it's full they leave and drop you off at your airline terminal. There are also cabs and pickups for Uber and Lyft that you can call.
  16. The WJ is as special as the MDR. I sailed on the Enchantment for 5 days one year and we had the same main course menu that was served in the MDR, people found out (after eating in the MDR, of course) and the next thing you know, they started showing up in the WJ and it started getting crowded. Adventure of the Seas has done Mexican and Seafood nights and the lines are out the door. It really depends on Ship and the Chef that makes the WJ special to me.
  17. Jumping in to provide some info and rant about Disney tickets. The park says a single ticket costs $109 a day (ONE Adult ticket), but when you go to the calendar and pick your date, it could cost on average $155 for each adult, slightly lower for children under 10, yep over 10 you’re paying full adult fare. That can add up to $600 plus parking plus Geni + Lightening lane to get in on just several the rides ahead of the lines so that’s another $100, parking $25, total so far about $700 plus taxes. Gee, you need to eat, well that’s more money $$$. Now do a park hopper ticket, you know that’s going to be close to or over $1,000 and you’ve only gotten on a couple of rides because the lines are too long. Now they even have a annual pass for a kid is listed 3+ Which is priced at $1,299, which is absolutely crazy. I am sure Universal theme parks are up there price wise too.
  18. Some of you all are so dramatic because the ship is not sailing out of Britain. We all know what happened to delay the building of the ship and the current ongoing issues with supplies. Put your big girl/boy drawers on and stop whining about things that are out of their control. You know very well that ship can't sail in the winter in Britain.
  19. Try booking through https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com. my TA recommended them and they were pretty good. Change the cruise line and ship name to the one you want.
  20. Technically it starts at 6:01 pm Eastern. Tomorrow is the first full day of fall. 😂
  21. Celebrity cancels all Transatlantic stops to Bermuda this fall. https://thepointsguy.com/news/bermuda-cruise-call-cancellations-covid-rules/
  22. I was on Ovation in 2019 and I was able to watch Netflix by using a 10 foot HDMI cable hooked up to my laptop and changing the input on the tv to HDMI, then I brought along a GE TV remote from Walmart that had a sticker indicating that it was Samsung ready, (use the auto code search) in order to play movies. Don’t forget the batteries for the remote. I had no problem watching it since Netflix recognize me based in Miami through Royal’s Miami location. Now if they block the HDMI ports, then you will need to watch from your device of choice.
