  1. Training used to be undertaken at the White Star Academy; not sure if it still exists but here’s a link to what prospective recruits can expect https://www.cunardcareers.co.uk/life-at-cunard/ (HH, I hope that link doesn't breach any forum rules)
  2. By having a structured support system whereby there is some built in spare capacity between butlers and, moreover, perhaps the Q1’s should have dedicated butlers who are not assigned to other suites but can offer assistance when they are not required by their own guests.
  3. Agreed, but their "better service" should not be at the expense of those in the lower grade Q's.
  4. I believe Wagyu steak it at least one exception where if you want it you must dine in The Verandah and indeed pay for it.
  5. I don’t believe there is a β€œcorrect” amount; it is a matter of personal choice and how one values the β€œservice” one is rewarding. As for the recipient, I feel sure they are grateful for whatever amount they receive.
  6. That is not fact but pure conjecture. The MD is best placed to know how his/her restaurant seating plan is arranged and there may well be spare tables scattered around to accommodate such requests. There is no evidence to corroborate your allegation that another guest will be denied their assigned table just because an incentive may be involved.
  7. Excuse me, us Diamond folk have priority over the Platinum people. πŸ˜‰
  8. Don't forget the detachable collars. 😏
  9. Look what I received in the post today.
  10. Surely the β€œtrip” commences the moment you leave your house.
  11. Just because a guest speaker dines in QG does not make them a Celebrity; it could simply be down to the deal they or their agent has negotiated with Cunard.
  12. From the starboard forward glass elevator?
  13. More than one device can simultaneously share the same connection using tethering.
  14. Coriander is definitely Indian Cuisine although the price is likely to have increased.
  15. In my experience all onboard purchases must be charged to an onboard account. However, before the onboard account will accept any charges it must be activated either by registering a debit or credit card (typically at check-in) or by depositing cash at the Pursers Desk. If the cash option is adopted any purchases cannot exceed the amount of cash deposited taking into account any previous purchases. Think of it as a PAYG mobile phone. If the account needs more funds you simply top it up as you go. Alternatively, you could deposit a larger amount at the beginning and at the end of the cruise any remaining cash credit can be reimbursed.
  16. Yes, but that one connection can be tethered to allow additional devices to connect simultaneously.
  17. Well at least he won't miss the ship; if anything he'll be somewhat early and have a bit of hanging around to do. 🀣
  18. Looking at the OP's signature, it looks like he meant June 23rd.
  19. @bluemarble, just to add, I’ve tried here in the UK and /en-us and /en-au both default to /en-gb. However, I am able to visit /de-de.
  20. For the avoidance of any further doubt, see clause 15 https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/pdf/booking-condition-pdf/Cunard Booking Conditions October 20.pdf
  21. Looking back at some booking confirmations, Cunard seem to have dropped the β€œCU” showing the CWC Number as AA99999A, so 8 characters which is consistent with this from the UK Future Cruise Credit from Cunard - Our guide. E-Tickets on the other hand still show the β€œCU” Go figure! Mine and Mrs NWN both have an β€œU” as the final letter whereas our son who was a junior on the same first voyage has an β€œX”. I should add, that as lead passenger I was assigned a CWC number with the first digit being a β€œ7” and Mrs NWN and our son were given consecutive numbers beginning with β€œ3”. Both Mrs NWN and our son also share the same two letters after β€œCU” whereas my fourth letter is different.
  22. Ours are "CU" followed by two letters, then five digits then a single letter. So ten characters in total.
  23. Ok. I'm going to take a stab at Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the church is Our Lady of Guadalupe? December 12th is when they celebrate the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
