  1. My issue was never the sea days. It was the port days. In order to make up for less time on the ship, I had to drink even MORE on the sea days. While I am not a teetotaler(sp?), I am definitely a lightweight. SUGAR on the other hand... lol
  2. I got the refreshment package FOR $20/day for our upcoming cruise. I won't even get into the hassle of needing to spend time at GS on day 1, but I don't want to have to mess with multiple cards. I need a card for my seapass, then a separate card for the kids door. Oh wait, maybe DW will need to get into the kids room and I'm not around. Now she's carrying two cards. Make sure you get out the right one. People keep saying you need to book an adult with minor kids and that's just factually wrong. People keep saying if someone in a cabin wants the alcohol package, everyone (over 21) needs to get one. That's factually wrong also.
  3. Sigh. No. Book husband and wife in one cabin, kids in the other. After the room is booked, CALL RCI, tell them the husband wants the alcohol package, the wife doesn't drink but would like the refreshment or soda package instead. Then they each have a package, and don't have to worry about getting different keys made.
  4. I noticed when checking for price drops that Royal would have "Included" when selecting a cabin in the back 3rd of the ship, then "+$xxx" for the middle 3rd and/or front third. Any chance your request changed locations? Although now that I think about it, that should change room category I'm guessing.
  5. Yes you CAN have 2 minors in the same room, provided the adults are either adjacent (doesn't have to be connecting) or immediately across the hall. I don't know if you can book this online or needs to be done via TA or Royal directly. Royal's "rule" is you can not share a package. If you get an alcohol package, you are not allowed to get an alcoholic drink on your package and give it to your wife. Will you get caught? Maybe, maybe not. But if you are, your package will be canceled at minimum. There may (probably?) be other consequences.
  6. Keep your wife and yourself in the same room. CALL and say your wife doesn't drink and would like (insert other drink package here). That will be allowed. Do NOT "share" your package with your wife.
  7. According to a site I'm probably not allowed to name: I googled "Mariner of the seas Vitality Spa".
  8. How much would the cost of the (alcoholic) drink package have to be for you to NOT purchase it?
  9. $102 + $51 = $153/2 = $76.50/day. Wow, what a savings! I'm still happy with the refreshment package I got for $19/day. I can't justify spending an extra $50-60 per day just to add alcohol.
  10. What Edocs? I only see the SetSail Pass & Luggage Tags.
  11. Bumping this for an added question. Is there a way to confirm the time? I know it's Royal IT, but they have different times listed on the website... So which is it?
  12. But they've cut down on the hours of MTD, so there's less time available, meaning more "peak" times. So I decided to go with the "sure thing", because I was concerned if we did happen onto one of the "peak times", we wouldn't be able to switch to TD.
  13. Don't count on walkie talkies for reliable real-time communication when you're on a metal ship.
  14. But isn't that the point of message boards like this? To give people information to make the best decisions that work for them? We changed from MTD to Early earlier this week. We had MTD set for 7p each night, thinking we could get in/out in time to catch the evening shows. But, based on threads here, we decided to move to early. We figured if we have to wait 30 minutes to get seated, we're going to miss the evening shows. PLUS, 5:30 is closer to the time we normally eat anyway (usually by 6). And I believe the last time we did MTD, we were able to get 6p. Now the earliest was 6:45p.
  15. We did the same thing. We've had no issues with MTD in the past and even had same table/servers for the cruise, so we signed up for MTD for our next cruise. After reading all of horror stories, I had our TA switch us to early TD. I thought they had a decent set up on our past cruises... TD on Decks 3 & 4 and MTD on deck 5. If there's too many using MTD, then start claiming some of either deck 3 or 4 in addition to 5.
  16. I used cruisemapper.com. Can search by port, cruise line, or ship.
  17. Assuming this is today, looks like Oasis and Enchantment
  18. If you have a "viewing party", how does RCI know everyone watched the video? Self certify?
  19. OK, you guys are making me nervous. We currently have MTD for our Mariner cruise next month with reservations at 7p. 1) Will that be time to see the evening "shows"? 2) Looking at the app, early seating is showing 5:30p-6:30p and late seating is 8p-9p (except Dining room 3 shows 6:45p-9p) I'm wondering if we should switch to early seating. It's hard to judge what time to eat when you don't know the entertainment schedule. 😛
  20. Wow. You finally broke even (depending on what you paid for the stock and how long the cruises are). lol NOTE: Calculation based on current price of the stock at $37.30/share. 100 shares = $3730. $100 OBC/cruise = 38 cruises.
  21. The 7 & 11 year old might like the aqua park. You might want an adult to go with them (although they have to wear life jackets). We've enjoyed the cabana's on two cruises, but that was when they were $250-300.
  22. It's a very good question. I knew about it because of CC also. Is it posted on other forums? Perhaps. BUT, I'm the type of traveler who likes to check in as early as possible, regardless of whether there's a benefit. I fly Delta and do the assigned seats. I still try to check in as close as to the 24 hour mark as a I can. Now, for our cruise next month, I never got an email. I tried checking in at the 45 day mark and no luck. Kept trying throughout the day, app & web, nothing. Successfully checked in at the 44 day mark and got an 11am boarding time. I do feel that if they're going to assign boarding times, they should enforce them. If I remember correctly, pre-covid, RC had "suggested" boarding times, but they were based on where your cabin was or something like that. We plan on arriving at PC at 10:30a, and then try to get in. I will be a little upset if we have to wait a long time because RC wasn't enforcing the assigned times. I compare it to SW boarding. Want an earlier boarding slot? Either pay for it, or check in early. Don't check in two hours before the flight and then go into the A boarding line. Of course, SW enforces their policy.
