  1. How do you check in multiple people across multiple reservations and cabins (but linked)? At least enough to get everyone's boarding time the same?
  2. We'll use the sofa bed for our cruise next year. Haven't decided if we're doing morning or evening service. Here's our plan... * Ask the steward to come back an extra time to put up/take down the sofa bed. * If he/she can't/won't, then (gasp!) we'll do it ourselves. We've stayed in plenty of hotels with sofa beds and NEVER expected/asked a hotel employee to set up/put it away. We've even put sheets on it.
  3. I don't think the coffee card has the same restrictions the Deluxe Drink package does.
  4. Dollars? Pesos? Honduran currency? We don't sail until July, but eagerly following. Thanks for doing this!
  5. Thanks to the BF sale, refreshment page is $24/day, Deluxe is $84.
  6. 3 liquor drinks a day EVERY day. Like I said, alcohol isn't that important to me.
  7. Personally, I'd have no problems with drinking enough on sea days. It's PORT days that I have problems with, when you're off the ship for 8 hours (not counting private islands) that messes me up. Because that means you need to drink even MORE on sea days to make up for it. Alcohol isn't that important to me. And yes, I know it covers bottled water, fresh squeezed juice, specialty coffee, etc, but so does the refreshment package for a lot cheaper.
  8. Cruising CAN BE a budget friendly way to travel. 😜
  9. So let's see, the "you can't get a decent hotel for less than $200.", has turned into: "You can't get a decent hotel for less than $200 in a major city or tourist attraction that includes daily cleaning services, food, and entertainment." Cruise Critic doesn't disappoint.
  10. I've stayed 95 nights all across the country this year. If you want to limit PP's statement, go ahead.
  11. Honestly, I read them for the entertainment. But EVERY ONE has the "we ALWAYS remove our tips" and "we give $500 out daily in tips" (yes, exaggerating).
  12. Why does it matter what anyone ELSE does with their tips? Whether they don't tip at all, do automatic gratuities, do automatic grats and then more, or remove automatic grats and tip in cash? Multiple someones on your cruise and all other cruises are doing all of them. These tipping threads are nothing more than a way for people to brag. They're either bragging how they're "fighting the man" and removing the automatic tips or bragging how much more over the automatic amount they're giving.
  13. Guess it depends on what you consider "respectable". I do Hampton's a lot and they are usually under $200.
  14. That's what she will probably do. But are A & B the correct "choices" to have Option 2 work?
  15. OK, I'm going to try this again. All I'm trying to do is figure out what the options are for DD, present them to her and let her decide what she wants to do. Royal Reservation: Maiden Name Passport: Maiden Name DL: Married Name Option 1: Keep reservation in Maiden Name If she chooses this, we don't need to do anything? Use her passport to check in, use her DL as "in port" ID (yes, I know some say they take their passports with them. We don't). Option 2: Change reservation to Married Name If she chooses this, she needs to EITHER: A) Get a new passport w/Married name B) Bring a copy of her marriage license as a "bridging document" between her Reservation and Passport This is NOT a "What would you do?" This is NOT me telling her what to do. I refuse to "just let her figure it out for herself". This is me making sure my information is correct so I can tell her what her options are. If I am wrong on the options, please let me know (and what would be correct).
  16. If it's "ok" to you that the teen doesn't want to go on the tour and would rather work on the project, how about you just assume that? Does the reason the OP asked the question make a difference on the answer?
  17. Can't you go to Ft. Lauderdale beach to still have your "beach day"?
  18. I don't see ANY blame to go onto Royal. ALL of the blame goes to the person who grabbed the wrong bag. They should be responsible for returning the luggage to you and at their expense. And how did you get in touch with them if Royal didn't help?
  19. I don't think the library would be a bit unsafe. But if the family is on an excursion, wouldn't the cabin be as quiet as the library? I mean, it's not like you'd be doing research using the books the library.
  20. Since the mods cleared out a bunch of posts, let's simplify the questions... A cruisers married name (and name on the reservation) does not match passport name. Is the only thing required a copy of the marriage license? If so, does it need to be an "official " copy? If a DL doesn't match the name on the reservation, AND is used as the ID in port, does it matter?
  21. We only cruise occasionally, I just remember our first cruise having to go back to the room to get my DL before being allowed off the ship. Now I ask you... is that a chance you would be willing to take (utilizing photo ID that doesn't match the reservation)?
  22. Wow, lot of judgement on this thread. Some of you want me (and presumably would yourselves) to do nothing. Figure DD is an adult (true) and can figure out on her own what she should do. Of course, if she does nothing, she's mad at me because I booked the cruise in her maiden name and she wants to go by her married name. When we booked the cruise, we didn't know what she had decided regarding names. Her DL is in her married name, so again, what happens when you return to the ship from an excursion and the DL is married name and reservation is maiden name? My goal with the thread is to find out what the options are, THEN tell DD the options and the ramifications of the options. Then SHE can decide what she wants to do. So, here are the choices I see... 1) Do nothing, leaving reservation in maiden name. But would that mean she HAS to take her passport off the ship to use as ID to get back on (so the passport name matches the reservation name)? 2) Change reservation name to married name, which matches DL, and bring copy of marriage license to match up with passport? 3) Tell her "Figure it out on your own"? Which at least gives her a warning there might be an issue. 4) Don't say anything or do anything and hope she figures out the right things to have so she can board the ship. Sounds like some of you feel #4 is the right answer. Personally, I think gathering the information, then presenting it to her and letting HER make an INFORMED decision is the way to go. If you think that's wrong, feel free to skip the thread.
  23. Generally I would agree with you. BUT... A) She doesn't have any contact with the TA. We made all of the arrangements. B) 99% sure she doesn't even KNOW, and probably wouldn't think about difference in name documents. As far as the DL... don't you need to present photo ID to get back on the ship after an excursion? Yes, I know you can bring a passport off the ship, but it's not as easy to carry and not as easy to replace if it gets lost/stolen. Good point to @ShillyShally about asking what name she wants on board. Pretty sure she'll want her married name, but will ask.
