  1. DH is experimenting.... made gnocchi from purple sweet potatoes. Very tasty, though some improvement is needed on their appearances πŸ˜‰.
  2. Calling the port of Ashdod "Dead Sea" is like calling La Spezia "Firenze"....
  3. My two cents -- Kauai. Breathtaking beauty overload. Speaking of which, Bob -- I was riveted to all your pictures, mainly the helicopter ones, which afforded me to see other views of this beautiful island. We were lucky to see many sights of the Waimea Canyon, up until the Pu'u O Kila Lookout, which, by the time we got there, was the "whiteish" version of pea soup. No amount of blowing air could move the thick fog... [here my cousin is disappointed, whereas her hubby is taking it in a stride]. At least we saw this amazing view at the chickens' "domain" πŸ˜‰
  4. Same here - on both counts. Thank you 🌷 And your cat is very handsome.
  5. Maryann, I haven't the "foggiest" idea πŸ˜• Yours truly, after struggling with her usual worries, just fells asleep at this hour.... OTOH, DH is already "marching" on the beach and taking pics πŸ˜‰ The water temperature nowadays is ~80F, and outside temp is ~77F.
  6. Might be OBC from "group booking" which usually is not refundable.
  7. Bilbao has THE REASON we took this itinerary. DH is an art buff, he absolutely had to see the Guggenheim, adding it to the one in NY and the one in Venice.... We really enjoyed our stop there, as well as the one in Lanzarote.
  8. Fiona, thanks for the comprehensive summary. We've actually walked to the port from PI, since I've read on these boards that it is possible. We checked in Sunday evening, WQ mall was closed, and with nothing better to do, we decided on some "recce" of the surroundings, to ascertain that actually, as it was mentioned, in the morning, we could walk to port... Indeed, the following morning, we cut through the Holiday Inn's parking lot, and, presto, we were there... a very easy walk. We've done almost the same itinerary with Anthem, with Bilbao instead of La Coruna πŸ˜‰.
  9. Well, Nancy.... it is CC after all πŸ˜•. Besides, I have a reputation to maintain, being the "owner" of one of the longest running threads on RC's boards, along with Ken, aka @Ourusualbeach πŸ˜‰
  10. Same here, without any hesitation. The black one -- I would have considered it, if the blue one wasn't in the game πŸ˜•
  11. Grand Bistro. The same menu as in all other X ships... Once was enough for us....
  12. That was our thinking too... We flew 15.5 hours Tel-Aviv to LA (luckily, BC, since our son was still a flight attendant then and therefore, the price was "affordable"). We figured 4 days of adjusting in LA, before "tackling" the additional 6 hours to HNL, this time in economy 😒 Another 2 days of "adjustment" in Honolulu, and it still wasn't enough... we were tired at least half the cruise.
  13. Maryann, so sorry Jim was unwell and you had to cut short your long awaited cruise. This gallbladder should have had the decency to wait until the cruise's end, at least!! Glad that he's now on the mend. Stay healthy, take care, and big hugs (((( )))) 😘
  14. And here I was thinking Crystal ( @singinalot) was kidding... didn't know "gator" meat is edible πŸ˜• @xpcdoojk, JC, just curious, did you visit Bucharest or other parts of Romania on this occasion? ... "Reminds me of our first river cruise, sailing from Romania." ....
  15. Bonnie, pls. don't forget Renee's ( @ReneeFLL), even though she's doing "just" a semi-live πŸ˜‰
  16. @jagsfan, Mimi, + 1 😘 🌷 @Sunshine3601, Debbie, so glad you're on the mend. Keep up the good "work", the first days are annoying, then it gets better.... so long as you've not lost your smell and taste.
  17. Yay, Renee, what a feast we'll have with all the semi- and live reviews!! (along with Greg @Sea Dog, John @Ozark_Kid, and lastly with Crystal @singinalot, Bob @bobmacliberty, Andrew @A&L_Ont.... and Greg πŸ˜‰ @Sea Dog) Hats off for taking time from your cruise to do this, a big thank you 😘
  18. Agree. Those were holding the "franchise" at the Waimea's Canyon parking lot.... They were very happy with the food we provided πŸ˜‰
  19. Glad you made it to Firenze. Hopefully the excellent meal you had (especially the Pappardelle, looks amazing) will "appease" Merv's spirit, and from now on, with all the rich culture surrounding him, he will "behave". Enjoy !!!
