  1. Yes us as well, that probably explains why it is so sold out as they are just now doing the 8 day, still trying to wrap my head around the until 10PM in Aruba and Bonaire
  2. Took a 5 and 11 year old last summer (taking them again this summer) here are a few notes: They need their card to get on and off the ship at ports, they scan their card and then a parent card they are roomed with, so make sure you are there when they get on and off the ship as we had issues with kids in different rooms with different parents (they still let us one time but they had to look up the rooms were connected so it was more of a hassle) They do not need their card for Camp Ocean but you need it to scan them in and out You can ask for a ghost card for the room at guest services as long as both parties are there, but you can't "move" them to the other room
  3. It pretty obvious... they bad mouthed the holy chocolate melting cake!
  4. Just wondering if the ports are different so do they have to learn new ports?
  5. Does anybody know if Celebration is new to the ABC itinerary or just 8 day? We are on a 8 day in July and didn't know they were not doing them until May so now I wonder if the Staff will still be learning stuff on them.
  6. I think your best bet is the Dining room. One of my kids has a tough time in crowds and hated the buffet so we stuck with the dining room for breakfast (which I prefer and they have better service)
  7. On the Conquest now and they just announced that we are docking in Nassau tomorrow (Saturday instead of Sunday). Said excursions booked through Carnival will auto reschedule. They said due to the storms. So anyone else planning a bahamas stop this weekend that got changed?
  8. I was on the ship in April and July. In April there was a propulsion problem and we were a little late back to Galveston. In July no issues at all. We had no issues with hot water on either sailing. She's a great ship the only thing I didn't like was the main show room with the pillars in the way of most seats and the floor with terrible seats.
  9. We bought a very nice(expensive) effy ring to replace my wife's ring for our anniversary in April. I would not do it again as even thought it was American sourced, we still got stopped to go through customs and declaration, so it just added to the hassle of getting off the ship. The ring is nice and high quality I just won't make a large purchase again on the ship.
  10. If you have an iPhone you can iMessage with other iPhones/iMessage clients like MAC over the Internet plan on the Wi-Fi (some have said that you don't need the Internet plan but I have never tried it). Calling over Wi-Fi is blocked but again FaceTime on the Internet plans work. You also have the options for WhatsApp, Snap, Facebook messenger etc on the Internet plan. The other option is to enable cellular at sea and pay a very high rate per message (not recommended) Hope that helps
  11. Definitely the short rib is great. Also ask for extra rolls!
  12. I was on the Vista in April 22 and July 22 and I can confirm there is no Coke Zero onboard. They have Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Zero Sugar (which tastes nothing like Coke Zero). The soda I enjoyed the most for sugar free was actually the Bubly (sparking water). They were pretty good but I usually had to talk the bartenders and waiters through what it was as a lot of them didn't know what I was talking about!
  13. No internet plan needed; you still need to connect to the ship WIFI you just don't need an Internet plan
  14. My Wife, daughter and young kids all went through various forms of sea sickness. My Wife and daughter are impacted the worst. They both tried Dramamine to no effect and the sea bands work to take away the throw up factor but still left my Wife feeling queezy. The best thing we have used are the MQ Motion Patches that go behind the ear. They put them on the day we leave and change them daily Amazon.com: MQ Motion Sickness Patch, 30 Count : Health & Household
  15. My wife and kids used these with no side effects. They worked wonders both on the cruise and when kids are nauseous when sick Amazon.com: MQ Motion Sickness Patch, 30 Count : Health & Household
  16. Good day all, Taking my wife on a 3 Day cruise on Conquest in November out of Miami for her birthday. We have only ever been on 7-day cruises on larger ships (Vista, Magic). Any tips or things to look out for or any tips on Conquest or Miami?
  17. Just off the Vista from the 7/2 sailing. Camp Ocean opened every night at 7PM (on the dot) and was quite busy for drop off right at that time. And yes no meal service. The hours for us were: Sea days - 9AM-12PM, 2PM-5PM, 7PM-10PM then Night Owls Port days - 7AM-12PM, 2PM-4PM (sometimes they didn't close we never went during the day on port days so not 100% sure on this one), 7PM-10PM I wouldn't plan on earlier than 7 and to be safe I would do 7:30 because of the drop off.
  18. We paid $28 for the last day on the Vista about 1 week ago for my son to attend a Zoom call for a test
  19. Yes we watched Minions, they were showing Minions 2 and Jurassic World 3 and two other Imax (documentary style) movies. It looked like they were switching over to Thor. We did have to buy and show up about 30 minutes in advance the tickets for Minions as it got pretty full.
  20. It was probably 10oz. It was well cooked as well so not a lot of fat.
  21. They no longer offer babysitting in the rooms, they only have Night owls which is kids that qualify for Camp Ocean can stay longer past 10 PM (to 1AM on the nights we saw) for a charge. So they stay in the Camp and you pick them up.
  22. Just a quick review, we were on the 7-day Vista on 7/2/2022 to Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. This was our first cruise with kids. Capacity: Full capacity, around 4k people but the ship never really felt too full except on the Lido deck for parties and in the Ocean Plaza for Trivia on the last day! Food: We had early assigned dining (there was 7 of us so we felt that was easier) and the staff was great. The food was okay, they had two Cucina dishes (Seafood pasta and Chick Parm) on the menu each night I guess to make up for the Cucina being closed for dinner. Guys was great and the frys were okay (not sure I could compare them to before so sorry if you are looking for that). The best thing we had was the Teriyaki Steak ($10) at Bonsai (the sushi was so-so), it was great and better than the steak I had in the Steakhouse. Shows/Activities/Parties: The shows were great, we really enjoyed Flick and the comedians. The activities were great we stuck with Trivia a lot but the deck parties and other things where always good Kendal Fire did a great job with a lot of excitement! Ship: No propulsion problems that I am aware of, we left on time and arrived on time each day and the ship was pretty well taken care of, didn't really notice a staff shortage we only ever really had lines getting on and off the boat and I think I waited a few minutes once for pizza but other than that it was pretty smooth but you could tell there were a lot of people on the boat Kids Camp (Camp Ocean): So I know there was a lot of back and forth but we actually had a great experience with Camp Ocean. We had two kids (5 and 10) in the camp and they loved it. They opened up to 2-5 while we were there but no under 2. Sea Day times - 9AM-12pm, then 2PM-4PM, then 7PM-10PM (with the option for night owls most nights) Port day time - 7AM-2PM, 4PM-10PM Our kids preferred to eat breakfast and then go to camp (on Sea day's) and then we would get them for lunch eat some lunch and then do the activities around the boat (water park, Trivia, etc etc) then we would eat dinner and they would pretty much until they closed down, on port days they would go after dinner. They had a lot of great activities for them and they had a blast and wanted to go each day. The staff was great to where they remembered their names and likes and they had a few days where they got to keep their crafts and things they made there. So definitely bring your kids the first day to check it out. It was great to see other 5yo say hi to my son because they met each other in the camp. If you have any questions please let me know! I hope it helps someone!
  23. Walgreens had an issue today (we had the same issue). You have to call them and have them resend the email as it was down all day.
  24. No that is not correct (at least in April). My wife had to be logged into the Wifi package in order for the messages to go out.
