  1. every day was 2 different flavours, if you liked the flavours it was the best deal
  2. had them on the Eclipse this summer as well
  3. Taino Bay is the main one for RCL now. I believe it may only hold 2 ships however so if they scheduled more for that day (which is rare) It may be something different.
  4. often your check in time and your actual boarding the ship are going to be different especially if you have an early one. They don't take on the new passengers until they get all the old ones off the ship. So you can have a check in for 9:30 or 10 but might not start actually walking on to the ship till 10:30 or 11. Personally I still love the early check in, even if it means waiting for a bit in the terminal until they let us walk on the ship. Others like to check in latter so they can end up with no waits at all they just go straight through check in and walk right on.
  5. Getting off in ports generally takes longer than getting back on. It has never taken me more the 15 minutes to get back on usually it is just a few minutes, the only real hold up is going through security. Delays in getting off are just volume, however the cruise lines try to stagger their excursions to ease this. Now if your tendering it is a whole different situation.
  6. Kind of was mentioned in post #2.
  7. While I agree that on land you can't get 3 courses for $18 you are already paying some as part of the cruise fare so it is an additional $18 so really to compare you need to be talking 25-30
  8. Except that now everyone is wearing headphones and doesn't hear you coming half the time.
  9. It was every day in the buffet, some times not the best flavor choices but it was free.
  10. In July it was 10 am at the latest, by 9:30 they were pushing us out the door
  11. We tend to treat the cruise as a way to see if the country or area is worth going back to. Italy is a great example, parts we can access and see well via cruise ship but other parts we will do as an extension to a trip (or even just a land based trip, although rare). We are planing a greek island cruise this summer departing from Venice (Ravenna actually) we are tacking on some extra days to explore some Northern Italy areas before the cruise.
  12. Assuming this is a Celebrity it does me you have the always included package (tips, classic drinks & wifi) NRD means no refundable deposit. not totally sure on the 8075 part
  13. loved that you could go to the pig and anchor on embarkation day and sea days for free buffet. One of the only ships that I have been on that had a selection of draft beer. lunch options were great. Disappointments were the shows/entertainment and the main dining experience.
  14. down on deck 5 (I think) by the coffee bar is a lounge that has a small breakfast buffet. I don't think they do omelettes but it was quieter down there, at least when I went by to get my coffee
  15. When I was last at Grand Turk the pool there was free as well. Don't recall a splash area, slide or zip line, but it was a nice pool.
  16. Did not see it last week, but we were there on a Sunday (if that makes a difference). But I also heard it is no more.
  17. We were there last week and the weather was terrible. All ship excursions got cancelled and very few private ones ran. So I guess it will depend on how bad the weather is.
  18. if you paid for them then yes, if they were a perk or a benefit they may not.
  19. the cool part is with the 3 channels (each with its own colour) you can just switch to a different song if you don't like the one you are currently on. It is fun to see all the sets change colours when a 'good' song comes on one channel or another.
  20. I would still call captains club as a member you would still get a slight discount. That said it did come and go in my planner for my Alaska cruise on the Eclipse last summer. You can also do your upgrade onboard, the bartenders love when you do as they get some sort of incentive for it, but they can't offer you the captains club discount which may not be much anyway
  21. just a note many schools in Canada don't go back until September (right after labour day) did a last minute cruise this past summer, booked about 12 days out, it is a little bit of a crap shoot for pricing and cabin selection but we had the time off and were flexible in options so found something that worked. It is often harder when you have a specific cruise date and sailing that you are wanting.
  22. We are on page 5 already and we have not even boarded the boat yet. Wow
  23. on the eclipse in August we had 3 channels to choose from, one was mostly current stuff, one was more good old fashioned rock with a bunch of 80s stuff, and the third was a latin mix
