  1. And this is the lunch on Nuka Hiva that @Vict0riannmentioned:
  2. Finally found my photos that I wanted to share: @StLouisCruisersThis is the mailman in Coober Pedy, in the middle of Australia. You can arrange a ride with him but we didn't have enough time. (oops, still don't know how to properly size photos.)
  3. On many but not all ships, we've found a European outlet behind the head of the bed. The night light is sacrificed but DH usually doesn't want it anyway.
  4. After my last shopping excursion looking for distilled water and either not finding any or at a ridiculous price, I jokingly asked DH if he could build a still. Then an idea hit! Look on Amazon. Am now the owner of a bright red water distiller for less than $80. I can supply the entire family๐Ÿคฃ.
  5. I know it's not cold compared to Frozen Tundra cold, but when Seattle hits 19 it's cold. Spent the day in Seattle taking my 92-year-old DS to a hearing exam and then stops at Costco and JoAnn Fabrics. I had taken blankets with me so she could stay a bit warmer when I ran in to Costco. Glad we had them-waiting in the ferry line and then on the boat was chilly. But we made it-coming home the sun was blindingly bright. Just a bit of snow last night which didn't last. @RMLincolnMaureen, I'm tired just reading about all you accomplished. Good work!
  6. That's quite the snazzy tux jacket and tie Pete. Very nice!
  7. Congrats to Michigan. It was fun just to see the Huskies get that far, even though the ending wasn't what they wanted.
  8. We were supposed to be in Napier the end of February but they had had horrific storms so we missed the port. Most of the area was without power. The photos showed how much we missed-guess we'll have to make another trip! Slow going for the UW Huskies at the start of the game. DS is there along with a couple of friends-my nephew and his son are also there. Lots of purple blood around here! And my "whine" of the day is I wanna be on a BHB.
  9. @SuslorFile away for future use: s.k.hill at comcast dot net ๐Ÿ™‚ I just wish we were closer so we could meet ahead of time for coffee. See you on the roll call. -Susie
  10. When I have a drink package, I save the coupons to use on cruises when I donโ€™t have a package. Well duh, what a good idea! Good thinking.
  11. Thank you for your detailed report on the dog issue. It was well written and very fair. I hope the person who witnessed the accident by the elevator reported it clearly and it's added to the report. I guess you can say you had a very memorable cruise, just not in the way you'd hope to remember it. Take care and thanks again.
  12. @VMax1700I read the same thing at first glance. I think a dink is a soft hit over the net when playing pickleball.
  13. Thanks so much for your detailed reports and good photos. I am curious as to how many name tags werenโ€™t picked up at the M & G. Always disappointed when there are a lot who sign up but donโ€™t actually show up.
  14. Just curious-what makes the Nieuw Amsterdam so popular with groups? Lots of full ship charters on the list.
  15. A rather late "Happy New Year" to everyone and thanks to everyone who shares news and information all year long. @SuslorDoes your new cruise include the January 4, 2025 28-day segment from Singapore? If so, we will see you onboard! First time for us in that area of the world (other than DH's time in Thailand during the Vietnam war).
  16. I agree with the suggestion that an upgraded cabin is in order, if the ship isn't fully booked. Ask for it, just in case they don't offer it as a remedy.
  17. I think you need to buy a lottery ticket. What are the odds of not only having a service dog on your flight but in your row! I hope the ship gives the dog cabin a very deep cleaning. You have to wonder if there were any โ€œaccidents โ€œ during the long voyage.
  18. I want to add my thanks for your excellent review of your last 2 cruises. It's been interesting to see what new adventure (the good, the bad and the ugly) pops up. And I so agree that dogs do not belong in any area where food is being served-ugh! Back to cooking and cleaning-always a shock after a cruise. Thanks again!
  19. Thanks for all the information. Canโ€™t wait for next January.
  20. Please bring back a little warmer weather with you please. Have a fantastic cruise and thanks for another cruise review.
  21. One last thought-it sort of depends on where you're cruising, your activity level and the weather. Cool weather and not doing anything very strenuous, you can wear something a couple of times. If you're taking tours through a steamy, hot jungle and trying to go light on the packing, you might like the unlimited option.
  22. Wow! The UW Huskies and Texas game is down to the wire. Ready to pass out after holding my breath for so long.
  23. Thanks for the amazing story of your journey. Now Iโ€™m really anxious for our next cruise for the eclipse in Mexico. Itโ€™s been too long since weโ€™ve been on a ship.
  24. Thanks for the update on the rats-oops, I mean dogs. How frustrating to still be dealing with them. I think we're all amazed that they are onboard and wondering how it happened. Can't wait to hear what Guest Services has to say. Happy New Year and hope the rest of the cruise is calm and peaceful.
