  1. I am another customer who prefers that Seabourn keep its current system for air, purchase through their air option if you want.
  2. Our experience in Hamburg was that the passengers tended to arrive early rather than later, so by 3:00 there should be a short line of people waiting to board, unless something goes wrong.
  3. Back to the original question about Cunard's loyalty program: After years of sailing, we have managed to slog our way to fancy pants Diamond status. At this level we will get a free lunch in the specialty restaurant and some free internet time, and that is about it. I am happy to receive whatever amenities I can get, but I do find Cunard's loyalty program to be less than generous. However it is not the reason why we sail the QM2.
  4. Jack: You also have my thanks for your comprehensive report, which is helpful as we board a westbound crossing on June 22. Thanks!
  5. I may be wrong...but I think that when we pay for the cruise with the AmEx card, we get a bottle of wine as an amenity. On Cunard the wine is their own label.
  6. We always get an amenity of a free bottle of wine, Cunard label, on any voyage. I think it is linked to our use of AmEx. Anyway, we have enjoyed red and rose. Nothing wrong with either one. Quite drinkable and enjoyable. Not sure if I would buy them, but for free, they are just fine.
  7. Had a great time in the casino on the QM2 in December. We didn't win any money...but we had a good time playing cards with new friends and with friendly staff.
  8. The very odd location of the Club dining room makes it inevitable that one would have to pass through Britannia sooner or later. And we have passed through Britannia simply because we got lost, which is easy to do. No one gave us dirty looks or asked us for a hall pass. But we were careful to not make any disparaging remarks about the low class of the diners we saw. Their lack of status was obvious and we did not have to comment. Hyacinth Bucket would not approve.
