  1. We used PK Travel last year. Just myself & husband. We went to Sounion. Excellent service. Think Demetris was our driver as we didn’t need a guide. His English was great but we are Greek speaking so used it as an opportunity to practice our language skills.
  2. We stayed Here when we went https://www.melia.com/en/hotels/spain/madrid/palacio-de-los-duques-gran-melia?utm_medium=organic&utm_source=directories&utm_campaign=google&utm_content=2810 just near the palace.
  3. I haven’t but when we were in Athens last year I used PK Travel. We just went to Sounion as I’ve been to the Acropolis etc several times. I love Sounion always blows me away. They would be able to advise if possible to do both.
  4. We used Moti Bar Tuv at Travel Israel for myself & husband on our Apex cruise last year. Moti (fantastic communicator) couldn’t do it himself & seconded the tours to someone else - Meir (excellent) & Eli (outstanding). Worth every penny doing it just us. Was a bucket list for me.
  5. We used Moti Bar Tuv at Travel Israel. We had private tours (myself & husband) for all 3 of our days in Israel. Absolutely fantastic. Worth every penny & meant we could go at our own pace.
  6. Do you any recommend any particular tablets @sleepingcat?
  7. Think P&O don’t allow smoking. I’ve never sailed with them but friends do. Do you mind sharing your research please?
  8. I’ve only just booked Beyond this week. Have a suite guarantee as didn’t want to pay full price for something that is changing. And I won’t feel cheated if it’s terrible, and I’ll have snagged a bargain if it’s good! Next year on Apex in a CS that I booked in June. I’m always on the lookout for something else but for now X fits.
  9. That’s inspired thank you! I love a Little dream.
  10. I have loved reading this board as I’ve always wanted to do a world cruise. My grandparents did 3, including preview cruise in 1969 on QE2. Unfortunately bad health & regular medical checkups means I can only do small segments for at the most 4-6 weeks & that is pushing it. At the moment I’m seen weekly (& that’s NHS!) so it’s also probably not a real reality anyway. But s dream is good to have for the future. I’m also not allowed to fly for more than 6-7 hours so that adds more complexity. So any recommendations please for which line would be a good fit? We usually sail Celebrity. I’m not overly keen on M class. As I said it’s most likely a dream as I can’t see being signed off by my consultant for that length of time anyway so please do not feel the need to explain in detail. (Hope that doesn’t sound rude!) thank you Ann
  11. On our cruise on Apex last year (so still within covid times) I found a carrier bag full of items in our bathroom drawer. As we’d only just arrived & not received our luggage yet it was clearly not ours. I spoke to housekeeping & asked them to collect. So they came & collected & I got beautiful flowers by way of apology.
  12. We upgraded as I’m very particular with my wine. Still ending up buying bottles as weren’t really good enough imo on either premium & certainly not on classic. But I’m of the opinion that life is too short for bad wine! Think we paid the difference in tips. I know you didn’t ask but we also upgraded one WiFi package (2 devices) as we then saved a bit. We had elite discount as well.
  13. I will usually have a coffee to keep me going but occasionally we will have lunch in port as we like to try the local cuisine.
  14. We are booked in a CS next year. I wanted a SS but dh likes the CS. He also likes PS but way out of budget now he’s retired. He’s now swanning around all happy that he insisted on CS (Apex June) as too much uncertainty. However I’m happy with our upcoming Beyond suite guarantee (October) & been assigned a MC suite and £2700 cheaper than the actual MC suite price I’m happy (I think) 😁
  15. You will need to layer up in October in the mornings & evenings as they are a tad chilly.
  16. Well I’ve sent my email. Let’s see. I mentioned Butler Vaping IV
  17. Here I assumed it’s U.K. site (as shows fare in sterling) but I’m not certain https://www.celebritycruises.com/booking-cruise/selectRoom/stateroomType?pID=BY10M319&sDT=2023-10-20&sCD=BY&sCT=CO&roomQuantity=1
  18. Still showing Butler on U.K. site. What is the best email to use please?
  19. We are booked on 20 October beyond. So excited. So pleased I saw this thread as it made me realise how much I wanted to sail on the Beyond. So thank you very much for this thread. I wasn’t blown away by Apex so this will be interesting. Cruise director on Silhouette said they had fixed some of the previous issues. I’ll be on holiday so I’ll go on board knowing I won’t be cooking or cleaning!
  20. If you don’t mind me asking for those looking at Cunard how does it compare to X please & if in Grills to the Retreat. Thank you
  21. Our first cruise on X was in a SS 2000. We then sailed DCL (1 bedroom suite) and went back to X (in PS x 2, CS x 1 & Aqua x 1) when the dcs were older. Things were different but we enjoyed all the same. We loved Aqua as much as suites tbh. Our next 2 cruises are in a suite guarantee & a CS. We will make the most of the trips whatever changes come. I’ll not be cooking or cleaning so I’ll be happy!
  22. We did an October Mediterranean cruise last year. First thing you needed sweatshirts/jackets as was cold. Warmed up by around 11. Olympia a fair few hadn’t expected it. And it was 🥶 I’m English Cypriot so I was well prepared!
  23. London hotels are even worse! We live in Hertfordshire but often stayed in town after nights out when dh used to get business discounts. He’s now retired so that’s no longer an option!
  24. I’m finding that everything has gone up. We went to book a short night break to Cornwall same hotel we’ve stayed before 2 years ago & its £250pn for the same room! We passed.
