Live - Harmony of the Seas 5-19 to 5-26-2018 Finding Inner Harmony with 6k others :)

Great review so far! We are going on the Harmony in November...question: if you get the chance, can you PLEASE check by Guest Services on deck 5 IF RCI has a Cruise Compass IN FRENCH? We are going with a couple from Paris on their first cruise, and the gal doesn't read English too well ( the guy is OK), so I know they have the Compass in different languages ( on the right of the main desk against the wall on other ships..) because I get one for my wife in Spanish every cruise..thanks!!!

Big Al

They do have one in French, but IMO it is badly translated and incomplete, it is understandable however but I much prefer the English one.

Please also take into account that the cruise does not cater to french speaking passengers, there will be no activities, announcements, ... in french, a basic understanding of English will be needed.

Thank you for the wonderful review! Is the coffee bar (to get espresso drinks) open early at Cafe Promenade or is it only the self service coffee until WJ opens?

Thank you--enjoy Labadee!!

I will check tomorrow morning for you as to what time they start making specialty drinks there. Check back.

I always enjoy your reviews but wanted to say how much I appreciate your food ratings (out of forks) and food reviews of each dish. Thanks again!

Awesome glad it is enjoyable!

But shouldn’t the soup ratings be X out of 5 SPOONS??? [emoji3][emoji3]

I like this! May have to appropriate it into the reviews now ;)

Since one of my favorites things to do is to get into an empty hot tub, why have I never thought about morning coffee... AHH... on the top of my to-do list for this August!! - thanks again for the wonderful idea.

Enjoy your day in Labadee... make sure you have plenty of sunscreen on!!

Enjoy the early morning coffee and bubbling hot tub. It is such a nice way to start the day. On many ships the hot tubs do not open that early, thankfully they seem to on Harmony.

As you can see from my reply’s we are back on de ship... it was an absolute scorcher out there. Many of our group are still there getting their sizzle on but us from the northern climates had to seek the shelter of the ships AC lol

It was a beautiful morning non the less...

The clouds that were present on arrival parted as we went ashore...

d271139317ea1babbc1c17fda6b02e98.jpg

People were streaming off the ship. Also no need to bring towels off the ship as they had a towel stand on the dock as you walked over, however it got kinda crowded waiting in line so if you can bring them off the ship do it.

A couple in the group did the zipline... The practice run...

I can now say I meet an idol from my childhood on Harmony of the Seas. Many may not remember him especially if you are not from the philly area or a hockey fan, but we meet Bernie Parent, who tended goal for the Philadelphia Flyer back in the 70’s and won two Stanley Cups with the Flyers!

He was absolutely gracious and posed for pictures with several of us.

e77f7e494db25bf0e66880ff2b19d2b3.jpg

We did not want to intrude, more than we did but he was very nice and took time to indulge my fanboyism until Mrs S. dragged me away.

Pictures sent back home to family and friends who are all big fans of the Flyers and Bernie as well. Nice topping on a beautiful day!

I have an awesome video from the zip line on my gopro but will be a while before I can download those and get them on YouTube.

Have been invited to a special sailaway treat that I hope happens and I can share after sailaway.

See everyone in a bit after we get cleaned up from all the sand we brought back unknowingly, the poor cleaners are having to constantly vacuum the public spaces from all the sand, they must hate beach days..

A few more snaps from Labadee

This picture does not convey how hot the pavement and sand became and knucklehead Seadog walked all over in bare feet. Anyone videotaping me would see me doing a dance trying to walk from shade to shade lol

Maybe I should have taken the tram?

Where might this lead to???

Top of an old fort maybe?

For sure Nolafire, I will crop the picture of just me and him and you will see the huge smile I have and still do. I played street hockey as a youngun and I was always the goaltender and pretended I was Bernie. Really is awesome day!

Yeah you never know and it happened when one of our group met him smoking a cigar and he did not know who he was until others walked up and were like you know who this is lol

Loving your review so far.

Glad you are following along!

Was lucky enough to ride on coattails to a Helipad sail-away party from Labadee.

I was unlucky enough that it was so windy all my picture came out blurry and unusable , but was able to piece together the following Video.

It was nice as they served nice cocktails and all the officers were presented by the Cruise Director and you could mingle and speak with them. We met and spoke with the hotel director, whose name has suddenly escaped me as I type this.

Let me know if you cannot view it as I used a popular song and sometimes they get flagged and blocked by youtube..

Until next time Labadee.. god willing we will get back!

We lived in the Philly area back then. Loved the flyers. Bernie Parent was an amazing goalie. He looks so different with all white hair and he seems thinner.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for the lack of updates last night as cruising fun took over in our large group and time zipped by with my transponder stuck being recharged right after dinner. So let’s catch up now Critics..

Dinner was again an overall excellent experience in Icon Grille Dining Room

Choices Choices...

e66db05ed1c387785a056c49e8848fef.jpg

Asian Spicy Pork Tacos (chefs recommendation) 5 out of 5 Forks.. more like a pork bun but had excellent flavor and while they are not very spicy they had wonderful spice flavor throughout, highly recommended.

757b529480353231a4290043722eb199.jpg

Wedge Salad 2 out of 5 Forks.. lacking in everything but lettuce.

1fc5a420194daca2a8d2c76c92795eab.jpg

Lamb Chops were 10 out of 5 Forks (phenomenal and several in our group raved over them)

c984bc174b06767666c942cdaa7d5932.jpg

My Steak Diane was cook to medium perfection however it only rates a 2.5 fork rating as it was very tough with no flavor..

42c1264d300a24fb5dd51739b31eb74e.jpg

Apple Pie al a mode 3 out of 5 Forks.

34bd793dce8912c4c2af61e8a98d68af.jpg

After dinner we strolled around, hung around the bar in the casino catching up on sports and the result is we miss our reserved seats at the diving show completely, as well as my wanting to see the comedy show in The Attic, thus it was a bit shocking to realize the time after having fun laughing with everyone and realizing we missed everything! But that is the point I guess having fun so it was a great night if a bit boring for a live report lol

Onwards to day 4.....

Today we dock into Falmouth Jamaica with a 10am arrival. Several in our group are on a tubing adventure, the seadogs missed this booking so we are exploring the port and surrounding area today..

But first lets get some coffee shall we Critics?

One area Royal Caribbean excels is their Art Installations around the ship. Here are a sample from the aft stairwell landing heading down to deck 5....
