I have an observation. Maybe you and your readers can expound. We are on a cruise ship where so much is going on and so much is on times. We try to relax but move from event to event on times. How do you keep on time to different venues if clocks are few and far between?[emoji12]

That is the eternal question... basically I ignore clocks and watches on vacation so that is why time gets away from me... i highlighted things to try today on the ship today then several from our group decided to head off to see the port area so we followed and we did not do any of the highlighted things we planned for mid-day.

 

We Just go with the flow and where ever we are at any given time that is where we are and we try and have fun... unless were in the brig... :)

Have not had the pleasure of dining here on any cruise yet but always had this song in mind when I see this restaurant on ships. For sure will dine here on one cruise..

Thank you again--really enjoying the review! The empty pool deck photos in the video--were those taken fairly early or was it that empty at about 10/11 as well? We're on the same itinerary in July and we had been thinking of doing a short time in the port around lunch time, but wondering if we should go out later in the afternoon if mid morning/lunch time is still very quiet on the pool decks.

Even now at 4:15 the pools were not crowded, but when we left the pool at 11:30 or so there were 5 people in and around the pools.

 

Obviously I cannot say it is always like that but it worked out well for us.

Hello Cruise Critics.. just had another fabulous dinner in Icon..

 

 

Beef Short Ribs( 25 out of 5 Forks Phenomenal flavor and no need for a knife) we have been impressed with 95% of the food so far this week in the main dining room.

 

 

 

Mushroom Risotto ( 3 out of 5 Forks) Lacked much of any flavor.

 

 

After dinner we headed to the Rising Tide Bar...

Pull up a chair and order a drink Critics why we listen to smooth jazz and imbibe an awesome Old Fashion while we ride the Rising Tide Bar.. ( Rising Tide make a seriously good old fashion, look for Devon as the bartender you will not be disappointed.

Loving this live review and all the wonderful pics! My sister and I will be sailing on Harmony in a few weeks.

 

Have you noticed if Harmony has computers or other electronic devices that connect to the internet? Or an internet “bar” to pay by the minute for connection? Buying the internet package is not worth the money for the few times I plan to check in. I am looking forward to disconnecting from the world for a week! Thanks in advance!

Yes they have computers in Seven of Hearts (aft on deck 14)

 

 

They have a whole slew of Apple Imacs

 

 

Along with it being their library and game room

Well this will end Day 4. Tomorrow is a relaxing sea day with predicted rain and storms for the next few day. We will need to muster up so activities to enjoy, check back tomorrow for more updates.

I can now say I meet an idol from my childhood on Harmony of the Seas. Many may not remember him especially if you are not from the philly area or a hockey fan, but we meet Bernie Parent, who tended goal for the Philadelphia Flyer back in the 70’s and won two Stanley Cups with the Flyers!

 

He was absolutely gracious and posed for pictures with several of us.

 

 

We did not want to intrude, more than we did but he was very nice and took time to indulge my fanboyism until Mrs S. dragged me away.

 

Pictures sent back home to family and friends who are all big fans of the Flyers and Bernie as well. Nice topping on a beautiful day!

Well it is that time again for the Seadog family to head out on the open seas. This will be our first time on Harmony, however we have had the good fortune of sailing on Oasis several times and Allure once so we have some idea of what we can expect.

Heading south tomorrow via air freight, better known as American Airlines and boarding Harmony on Saturday. We have an overnight at the Hilton Marina. We are a small cog, part of a larger group going so there may be less posts, but I will try and post lots of pictures of the ship/cabin/areas/entertainment along with hopefully lots of food porn. I am also going to try to post many videos as I practice taking them and editing them to improve, so depending on the WIFI quality there should be videos as well.

 

We are stationed in a Boardwalk Balcony Cabin, so no endless view of the passing sea, but let's see what views the boardwalk provides....

 

As the video linked above shows, we are on the Western Route this upcoming week so will be porting at Labadee, ( hopefully getting some Medication for our Vacation), Jamaica, ( hopefully getting some.. well nevermind that).. and Cozumel ( where we have our only excursion booked of Playa Mia Beach Break, where I hope to sample some tequila and maybe get an on beach massage!)

 

On question I hope to answer is can someone find peace and quiet along with relaxation on such a large ship? Follow along to find out if there are any secret hide-a-ways and areas to retreat from almost 6K passengers.

 

Hope you can join us for the next week or so and look for updates to start tomorrow afternoon as we begin our journey to Fort Lauderdale and then Harmony of the Seas..
