diesel1973 Posted February 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Went on a land tour(10 days) of China last year and got a 10 yr. visa. Am planning on returning this year on a land tour(14 days) and was wondering if I have to submit my schedule while there as I did when applying for visa or do I just fly to China and show them my visa for entry? Any help will be appreciated!
Philob Posted February 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) Just make sure the Visa is still valid (not expired or single/numbered entries) and go. Edited February 13, 2018 by Philob
diesel1973 Posted February 13, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 13, 2018 It expires August 2026 and is in my passport that expired last year. Do I need to bring old passport with me or just the page!

Bring your intact old passport with the Chinese visa and your new passport.
Hoyaheel Posted February 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2018 And note you'll need the new passport and visa(old passport) for immigration when you leave as well as when you arrive, so don't pack it away once you get there ;p
Philob Posted February 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Bring your intact old passport with the Chinese visa and your new passport. I meant to say you need to bring both, new and old, passports, intact.
G.M.T. Posted February 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2018 OP, phone your nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate to clarify your visa situation, they know much more than would be visa agents here on this forum.
diesel1973 Posted February 14, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Thank you everyone for your responses. I did e-mail the consulate and finally got a response back. They informed me to bring visa with me and it will be adequate.
Philob Posted February 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2018 OP, phone your nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate to clarify your visa situation, they know much more than would be visa agents here on this forum. We go to China every 2-3 years to visit the In-Laws. This summer we even took side trips to HK & Taiwan. SWMBO has a 10-yr Chinese visa on her expired US Passport and they let her in every time. pwake Posted February 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I have been traveling to China 4 or 5 times a year for the last 20 years. It took several years before they would give me a 2 year, multi-entry visa. The advent of the 10 year, multi-entry visa a couple of years ago was a huge relief for me. It’s in my old passport and valid until 2024. I have used it many time to enter China through many different cities(including out of the way places like Nanning in Guangxi Provence) and can stay for up to 60 days. If you have the same visa, you can enter and leave from any port. But you do need to have your old and current passport with you and don’t over stay your 60 days. Ashland Posted February 14, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I just returned from China in October...and yes I did take my expired passport that had my 10 year china visa in it as well as my current passport...I had to show both when arriving into PVG and also when I checked into my hotel. Do not take the visa out of your expired passport...all must remain intact.
diesel1973 Posted February 15, 2018 Author #13 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Thank you for all your advice. I was concerned that possibly I would have to submit my itinerary like when I originally applied for my visa.
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 23, 2018 #14 Share Posted February 23, 2018 We didn't have to do anything special when we returned to China with a visa that was good from our previous travel. Keith
