Just because Key West is a Caribbean island you can drive to, it's still part of the USA.

Living down here in the Keys sometimes I WISHED they did NOT work!!!:p

Yeah cell phones work. 3 years ago we were there the first week of April and my mother in law had been telling my wife before we left that it was a dumb time to go since April is so nice in Michigan. My wife used her cell phone from the pool to call home when they were in the middle of a 20" snowfall blizzard and said well, it's kind of nice down here too!:D:D:D

Unfortunately, they do. I very nearly tossed MrsSea's into the ocean down there a couple of years ago.

I would assume that would show up as ROAMING on your phone? Verizon and sprint both had good signals when I was there. The only time I ever used a cell phone on a cruise was here so I could look up Blackfin Bistro's number and address :D

The ship's tower is turned off upon docking. When docked, you are using regular cell service.
