Grand cayman ,if your platinum you will not be able to board the tender boats first from the island to the ship.

As was previously stated as being a new perk with Carnival.

Security stated they could care less about Carnival policies.

Unfortunately, neither did Guest Services on the Glory last week. Tendering was a nightmare! I had an 11:00 CCL excursion, and reported to the Ebony Lounge one hour early - as did 1,000 other people. After waiting on line 15 minutes with the line down to the disco, I went to Guest Services and asked for priority tendering, as I was afraid I would miss my excursion. The woman there told me that "since I had a Carnival excursion I would have to wait on the line, as they tender by excursion." I told her that my tickets said to meet on the dock, and they were NOT tendering by excursion. She told me I was wrong, so back on the line I went. Finally got a tender # - and I was totally mixed in with all other people - not just my excursion, as I knew I would be. When I finally got to GC it was 45 minutes past my excursion time! And since tendering was so nuts that day, I was only the 2nd out of 12 people for that excursion there! We waited another 20 minutes for people to arrive- we finally left without 2 people ever making it off the ship. So CCL should get their Platinum tendering rules straight- getting on or off the ship!

On the Conquest last month we had no problem at all. We went to the information desk as soon as we saw tenders heading for the ship. The ladies at the information desk said they would escort us down once they received word the ship had been cleared by local authorities. We heard the call on their walkie talkie and we were escorted down and put on one of the two tenders boarding. It was no problem.

THANKS, I'll remember that for Grand Cayman next Thursday. :)

Getting on the tenders at the port has never been a perk for platinum. JH had it on has blog several months ago that it was till Carnival said it is not. Platinum are to go to the pursers desk and be taken down to the tender area. We never had a problem with that being done for the last several years. If you had a problem go to JH blog and bitch to him, I would.

I think the OP was talking about tendering from the port back to the ship, and that it was Cayman security that disregarded CCL platinum perk.

I was recently in GC in both Dec and Jan and had no problem with either lines or security, perhaps because I was going back to the ship two hours before deadline? Hardly any line, and a tender was already loading, so no need to show platinum card. I can imagine that it gets hectic as final return time nears.

Priority Tendering BACK to the Ship is NOT a Platinum Perk. I found that out the hard way in Kona, Hawaii. My latest welcome aboard Platinum letter from last week now states that Priority Tendering is only FROM the ship. At least now it is clear.

Platinum tendering BACK to the ship IS a perk for Catalina, California in February.

The gal saw Sis's platinum card and pulled us to the front of the line.

Sis was talking to her and she was surprised that it wasn't a perk at other ports.

Had a problem with priority tendering on the Miracle the first part of Jan. Pursers desk was clueless about priority tendering for platinum-we skipped Catalina Island in Dominican Republic because we could not get the tendering right. We waited until 10:30 to go to the island as we expected priority-went to pursers-she said she would escort us-so far so good- BUT she took us straight to the show lounge where they were handing out tendering #'s and we were given 28!:eek:We tried to say no, we should be taken straight to the tender but were informed that we didn't get priority even tho we were platinum! They were clueless! gave up and decided not to leave the ship. We did address our concerns to the cruise director, Malcolm Burns, and he was very upset by the whole thing. Have heard that since then, platinum is receiving this perk on Miracle. I have said many times that Carnival needs to get their platinum perks standarized from ship to ship.

Return priority on the tenders has never been a perk.

The priority tendering is provided by the ship..... Those who manage the return tenders don't have a clue about perks onboard.

Last March when I was on my 34th cruise with Carnival I did not get priority tendering at Half Moon Cay while on the Carnival Destiny. In order to get ashore I had to go to the main show lounge for a tender ticket. When I entered the lounge that had just made an announcement that anyone with a tickets for tenders 4,5, and 6 could go down to deck 0 to board a tender. When I got to the front of the line for tender tickets I was given a ticket for tender number 22. From the time I entered the lounge until I left to go to deck 0 to board a tender it was almost 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Apparently you are wrong, again.

On Catalina, California it was Carnival badged security that was manning the line.

I just wish they would get this whole thing straightened out, and let Guest Services ON EACH SHIP KNOW AND UNDERSTAND how this perk is supposed to work while getting OFF the ship for a tender. Otherwise, it really isn't a perk, is it?;)

I contacted John on FB yesterday. He answered me a couple of hours ago.

John, my question is concerning priority tenders for platinum guests. I read on your blog several months back that the tendering perk was both directions. Now I am hearing otherwise. Can you please tell me which is the correct answer. Thank you.

John Heald It is indeed and i read a couple of posts where the return journey has not been honoured. And so I have sent a reminder to the fleet and this therefore should no longer be a problem. 2 hours ago · LikeUnlike
