I made a reservation online a couple weeks ago. Do you typically get an email confirmation, or something in your cruise paperwork. Is it just there, and you get something when you get to the cabin?

You should get an email.

I get a confirming email within a day or two, probably has to do with loyalty status. They confirm the priority plats & diamonds first. Others may have longer waits.

Besides the e-mail, that you now know about. You will also see it in, manage my booking in your activities.

And as far as Diamond and platinum goes, if they have a full house. That's there priority, if a Diamond or platinum member calls after they're all booked they're not getting in, if your diamond or platinum! Once you have reservations you're good to go. You were smart to book it online prior to your cruise, there have been times we have gone in on the first day track down the steakhouse folks as soon as we got on the ship. And that first night is already taken!

We're Platinums and usually receive an email confirmation within a few days, but one I made recently for the Steakhouse on the Miracle didn't arrive for well over a week. This was an unusually long time for a response from the Miracle.

For what it's worth, I have a confirmation email (posted above), but when I look at my activities on my booking, it isn't listed there.

I'm sailing the Miracle next month strictly for a casino fare. It took 2 days for the Steakhouse Maitre'D to DENY my request for an 8PM dining time mid cruise. She suggested I could get a 7:30 time instead. In my reply, I accepted the 1/2 hour change and "reminded" (informed?) them I was Diamond.

Guess they had a cancellation, since they approved my original 8PM dining time in their next email, which arrived about 12 hrs. afterwards.

It's been about a year or so since Carnival changed Plat & Diamond from guaranteed to priority specialty reservations I think? I generally pre-book any specialty dining, and I always avoid the first night. The wine promo doesn't sway me, and the crowd puts me off. Mid cruise, it's generally half full.

I'm sad to report the cheesecake is not on the new steakhouse menu.

I got an email confirmation about a week ago for my Teppanyaki on upcoming Horizon cruise, but it's not listed on My Activities under Manage Cruise.

I wonder if she got confused with spa appointments being on the activities list. Those appointments definitely show up! :)

I thought I may see it in manage my bookings, and it's not there nor have I gotten an email. If I haven't received any confirmation should I call carnival or retry again online??

I appreciate all the help!!

Typically I get a confirmation email within a few days. It is NOT in the cruise paperwork, and I have not see it in "Manage my booking." But they usually call to remind once you are onboard. For my upcoming cruise, I did not for a couple of weeks, so I emailed the steakhouse manager to check. The manager confirmed the reservation, and suggested the original email got lost in my spam filter (it wasn't). A week later, I finally received the actual email. My hypothesis (for my case) is they were behind in processing the reservations, but had me "penciled in," and forgot to push the button send the actual email.

For what it is worth, I am Gold Status, and sent my email to drsteakhouse@carnival.com and received a reply from drsupper@carnival.com, both being for Carnival Dream. Depending on your ship, you can send them an email to confirm and they are pretty responsive. So if you are feeling anxious, and want to just see something in writing, you can send them an email.

Perhaps I missed it, but which ship are you on?
