OBC Question

I booked an VIFP rate last week through my PVP, the rate last week didn't include OBC, now it does. Is there any way to get that OBC for that rate, or is my rate final. I've only paid the down payment at this point. I'm sure there is nothing that can be done, but I'm just asking for fun. Thanks.

can you cancel without penalty, im not sure what vifp rate terms are. if so yes, your pvp can change it to the new rate. ... with obc

Basically on most bookings if you didn't book the VIFP Early Saver* or the VIFP Guaranteed Cabin+ rate you can cancel without penalty up to XX days before sailing (tends to coincide w/ final payment date). SO what Carnival does, when ES or GTY is not involved, is cancel the existing booking # and rebook you at the new rate with any promo.

There can be a little bit of a problem here if you have purchased anything from your Cruise Manager, sometimes items, excursions or services do not always automatically slide over to the new booking #. So call your PVP and have on hand any purchase confirmations or emails from excursions (especially if you have FttF), spa appointments, and FunShop in cabin purchases.

*Early Saver price adjustments do not affect the booking number.

+GTY rates are non-refundable and not eligible for price adjustments.

I booked a cruise months ago. I don't remember the rate code, but I had just gotten back from a cruise and they sent me a offer with a small amount of OBC. Last week I got a offer with a large amount of casino cash and I called my PVP. They were able to cancel my original booking, saved me 469.00 dollars (rate went way down) and I also got the casino cash. So yes they can do it. It took almost 45 minutes on the phone, but was well worth it. And I got to keep my original room too.
