Allure ocean view balcony room set up

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Bob. How difficult is it to change rooms within the same category after final payment on the phone with C&A?

Should be very easy, and should be no changes to any price or perk, as long as you stay in the same exact category.

I'm assuming you have not booked with a travel agent. In that case, you would have to deal with the agent.

That's correct, Bob, I booked without a TA. That's good to know. I was assigned to a D2 balcony and just want to change to a different D2 balcony. Technically the room price is $164.54 more today but with the free gratuities instead of the no port fee sale I booked with (you know how those "sales" go), the price would be $24 cheaper today but personally I don't care and I didn't want the hassle of them crediting and recharging my credit card.

Well, being beyond final payment date, you would have to pay some penalty to change anyhow, so just stay in the same exact category to avoid any penalties.

Bob, I picture you in the MTAC room on NCIS, with a staff of 2 or 3, all very busy keeping up with our questions. Thanks for your help.

Better the MTAC room than the autopsy room.;)

Just watched that last night.:)

If I originally booked under a Ocean view balcony guarantee category and was assigned a D2 and called to switch to another D2 listed as an available room as an ocean view with a larger balcony category, does that count as staying in the same exact category?

As long as the category is the same, you should be able to move.

Thank you everyone for your help. I received my room assignment over night and I'm happy that it's a larger balcony ocean view hump with the bed near the balcony. However I'm concerned that it's on the starboard side (I've only done port side and have enjoyed it) boardwalk floor (lots of children/families?) with boleros underneath. I've never been on Oasis class before. Any suggestions on favorite floor for a D2? Thinking of switching to either 7th floor or 8th (Central Park). What is everyone's favorite floor/location for ocean view balcony rooms on allure? For background info: hubby and I spend most of our time at the solarium/pool and eat most of our meals in the windjammer and most of our nights are spent in the small bars and casino.

We've sailed Allure twice. We like to stay mid-ship on Deck 8 because of the easy access to Central Park and the Park Cafe.

How about Oasis 7278? Also, can someone explain why one is preferred over the other? Thanks!

Bed is by the closet.

We prefer the bed by the balcony as with the bed by the closet it is very awkward to get into the closet.

More like a PITA. Since I get up really early I always had to get everything I needed out of the closet the night before or no one else would be sleeping in the morning after I got up. We got a bed by the closet once and never did it again.

Thanks for all your help, Bob. With your recommendations and my friend who texted me from the Allure saying that she is loving being on the 8th floor-Central park this year, I switched.

You're welcome Tiffany.:)
