chipandsue Posted August 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2018 newbie water question ...I rarely drink anything but water. I also need to drink 75-100 oz. daily for medical reasons. Will be on Westerdam to Alaska September 2nd. Is the water onboard good drinking water? Can you get water in buffet anytime? Water package seems expensive ...does anyone get ? Can you go up to any bar and get a glass of water free? Thanks:)
paul929207 Posted August 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Water is fine. You can get it at the buffet and any bar for free anytime they are open. Some people prefer bottled water to tap and pay for the package.
Herfnerd Posted August 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Water from the bathroom sink is perfectly fine and potable
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2018 All the regular tap water on all HAL ships is free and excellent to drink. You can get a glass of water anywhere on the ship -- Lido, dining room, bars/lounges. Even from the tap in your cabin. The water is way better than what we get at home. The water package -- JMO -- is not worth it. Bring your own water bottle if you want to take water off the ship.
leaveitallbehind Posted August 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Ship produced water is available at no charge on board at anytime in the bars, buffet, and other dining venues. It is perfectly safe and is what is consumed daily by the crew as well as most passengers. Bottled water packages are expensive IMO. Many cruise lines will allow you to bring on bottled water as luggage - we just did so last week on Celebrity. Check HAL's policy with this. But good, clean water on board will not be an issue. cb at sea Posted August 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 21, 2018 You can get ice water upon request at ANY bar or eating venue...and in your cabin. There is plenty of water, and it's fine. After all, it's what's in your food, beverages and ice!
diane.in.ny Posted August 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 21, 2018 We sail on Princess and, at the bar, is a help yourself pitcher of water with glasses. You can check that out. As suggested, bring a water bottle from home and fill it up whenever you pass a water fountain or are in the buffet.
