Fascination in dry dock?

Can anyone confirm that the FEMA contract is over and she went into dry dock a few days ago as scheduled?

Yes. I saw a video of the cruise director showing the progress on the improvements they are making.

She is in Freeport now. EM

I am traveling on the Fascination this spring - would love to see some pictures or videos of the dry dock. Is there a link to the cruise directors feed??

Husband has arrived at the dry-dock today :)

Unfortunately, the Fascination webcams are not operating now. I did watch them as she entered the drydock. Not much to see on the aft webcam then, just a lot of cranes and boxes on deck.

So excited. We will be on her in 35 days!!!

Two weeks from tomorrow for us! I cannot wait, I am sooooo excited!

In CD Marcelo's facebook page, it shows a video of the palm trees being taken down and they would be trashed. He did not say they would be replaced. Hopefully they will be replaced. It did give the deck a tropical feel.

I'm not a huge fan of fake palm trees, so I'm good with that. It always seemed a bit cheesy somehow to have them around.

If you do a search, you can find Carnival's page detailing the updates. It is basically the 2.0 upgrades. I didn't know about this before booking. Now I'm glad.

The new burger and taco joints will be a welcome addition to the lido. There will likely be some new carpets and general cleaning and polishing.

They will fix or replace stuff that was broken but would have taken too long to repair during the normal cruise cycle, or required the ship to be out of the water.

Much of what goes on in drydock is underneath the ship, which you will never see. They inspect, repair, paint, etc. the underside and propulsion gear down there.

I can’t believe there haven’t been more frequent video updates from the cruise director Marcelo Marshmallow. I want to see pictures/videos! [emoji3]

Marcelo posted a new video tonight and the palm trees are gone. They are still working on the Lido deck and he said that he will try to post again tomorrow.

Someone posted the question on the fb page of the cd and he said he didn't think so, just low level lighting for bathrooms at night

I think fridges would take too long. On Elation the removed the drawers under the desk to put the fridge cabinet there. Sad to see that storage go. EM
