In recent years, Karen Mayberry has taken over and been the CD for the repo from Boston. Will see if she is back again this year. She organizes a great Halloween party every year.:) Joff was great on the Jewel Transatlantic and he and his sidekick, Steve, made their morning TV show a must-see.:)

Does anyone know anything about Kevin Rush? He must be good if RC put him on the Oasis .... but I would love to hear from somebody who has been on a cruise with him . ..

Ken seems to be their star Cruise director, he is on every new ship. He seems well liked, however i did find him a bit annoying and he does love himself. Every year they move him onto the new ship. He has been on all the freedom class ships.

Anyone know about James Andrews?

 

I SWEAR I had a CD named Brett on the Majesty in Feb but he's not on the list. I wonder what happened to him. He was okay.

Behind the scenes the CD does a ton of work setting things up on a new ship. Ken must be able to handle this complex job very well for him to bring out all the new ships, especially an unknown such as the Oasis.

It looks like Jimmy Rhodes will be onboard Monarch for our December cruise. I think I've read about him on CD topics.

 

I don't think I've read anything about Ricky Matthews - he will be CD on Majesty in November. What is the word on him?

 

From my few observations about CD's - I rarely notice them, except when hosting the shows, but I get more of a feel about them from their assistants. On most of our cruises they are the ones who seem to interact the most with passengers.

I actually like Ken Rush as you see him at a lot of the different events and is funny. Yes, he can get a little annoying, but all in all I liked him. I had Becky (?) a few years ago on the Voyager and she got on my nerves fairly quickly.

 

Leaving on Liberty on Saturday and looking forward to having James Andrews as I've heard great things about him

I'm sailing on Freedon 11/15-I'll have Richard Spacey's last cruise w/Freedom-he's really good right?

 

He's awesome! Freedom was my first and only cruise (going on Enchantment next month) so I don't have anything to compare him to. But he's very high energy, and extremely funny. We have Paul Rutter next month on EOS and I'm afraid he won't hold a candle to Richard Spacey.

 

Do a search on youtube. There were some videos of him on there.

Cool. My favorite cruise director, Mike Szwajkowski, is the CD on my next cruise ship starting in October. Looks like they generally stay for only 4 months, so I'm not sure he'll still be there when I cruise in March. I sure hope so!!!

 

I'm hoping he's still there for my January cruise!!!
