The first night is open seating.. After that it's assigned if thats what you chose.

Hi Radio, Thank you for the review and pictures! We will be on the Pride in 21 days and I don't fully understand about the first night dining. Is it open seating or can you arrive at your scheduled time and sit at your assigned table? Thanks and have a safe return to Baltimore.

I read many reviews that stated that also, but we had assigned seating the first night, and were very happy !

Hello everyone. . . The seas are still rough, but the Captain has assured us that with “Captain Kirk” (our CD) by his side, that we will arrive to Baltimore safely.

We are about 19nm east of Cape Fear, NC and our speed is about 21knots. We should arrive at the Cruise Maryland terminal by 10AM (on several previous cruises, the Pride arrived at 9AM)

Many of the outside decks (3,10,11,12) are closed due to very high winds (45-55 mph) We were told that there has been 20-30ft swells.

The Crew have closed the Lido Venus Pool cover, so it is very warm up there and you avoid the rain. There are many activities that are keeping all passengers occupied. Our cruise director predicted that as many as 40% of the passengers are feeling ill, and have decided to stay in their cabin.

The Fun Shops are packed today, as there are a lot of specials going on for last minute gift purchases. There will be a Ship Life Q&A this afternoon in the Starry Nights Lounge on Deck 2 FWD.

My winning streak in the Players Club Casino will have to come to an end, as I will have to cash out tonight. I love the Poker Machines!! I made a couple of short videos (15-20 seconds)of our sea conditions, and will try to upload them tomorrow when I can get a good connection.

Here are some pics from around the ship. . . More pics later.

Hi Radio,

Quick question about rentals and/or taxis in Port Canaveral. I'm planning on checking out NASA while I'm there next week, but solo since no one else in my traveling party is interested. If I understand Mark's marathon post correctly, what Carnival charges $130 for, only costs $59 if I show up on my own, so I'm inclined to go that route, but I don't know how to handle the transportation issue. What do you think is the most cost-effective way to get there and back? Rental car or taxi, or is there a shuttle bus?

Enjoy the rest of your holiday... maybe you can pass the baton to me (or CC'ers that I've seen say they are going to be onboard).

Thanks,

Don

We have a car reserved with Budget for $43.27. That is full size, for just yourself you could get a compact a little cheaper. My understanding is they (Budget) have a shuttle pick you up at the ship.

Hey Radio---Thanks for the live posts its always a real treat when your on board. Just wanted to tell to keep an eye out for Grandeur of the Seas she just got into Baltimore around 7pm tonite and will not depart until some time after 2am Sunday morning. The noreaster held her out in the ocean until 10:00 am this morning due to the Port of Baltimore being closed.

Take care

Hello everyone. . .We started heading North (instead of NW) at around 5PM as we passed Cape Hatteras, NC. We should be at the Cape Henry Pilot Station by about 2AM, and then it will be another 8hrs up the Chesapeake Bay.

The water has calmed a little, but there will be no more swells once we enter the Chesapeake Bay.

We had a very good dinner tonight in the Dining Room, and I will miss the meals that were served there throughout the week. I will also miss the coffee in the Piazza Café (It was very good).

I will be posting several times tomorrow, but here are a few pics from the week.

Thanks for tuning in !

Hello everyone ! We have arrived at the Cruise Maryland Terminal of the Port of Baltimore.

We tied up at about 10AM, and the first call for self assist was at about 10:30AM.

The final call for passenger Debarkation should be at about 12:30PM.

We are driving, so that is the time we will leave the Pride. They may have to make an announcement like " Hey Radio ! It's time to leave !"

We were able to see Grandeur of the Seas due to her late departure caused by the storm. (Thanks firmans15 for the update !)

Here are a few pics from our calm transit up the Chesapeake Bay this morning. . .

Following this thread has been depressing! Just because it seems like it was yesterday when it started and Radio's cruise is ending tomorrow! Makes me almost sad but yet so excited for my cruise on the Pride in the end of Jan
maybe we can talk carnival into taking paypal, and we could all chip in a little and keep him onboard....
