fig414 Posted November 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2009 It's the layout. It's the short lines with 2100 pax. It's the the adult aft pool. It's the main pool with the kids and you sit on the edge with your feet on the platform or sit in the water and listen to the band. I've done this thread before and I'm doing it again. Sue me. To us the key is the flow. Promenade deck on 2 is great and then Atlantic deck 3 has great stuff too. From fore and aft you have complete access to everything. One dining room and no having to hit a dead end and go up or down. FLOW. Lido deck (deck 9) is long with no stadium seating. There is no big screen. I happen to like a big screen for sports stuff, but that's a personal aside. Deck 10 is plentiful for space. I wish the casino was bigger but the sports bar is way nicer than the usual generic one. The Supper Club (twice) is exquisite. I'll cruise any Carnival ship, but if Spirit Class comes close to my wishes...... The Aft Wrap Around is a whole different thread........................... grandmallie Posted November 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2009 so glad to hear a great review on this ship, we will be sailing it a year from now, have a blacony on the main deck, and have seen quite a few reviews with pictures that are just wondeful, to bad the cruise is a year away:(
gail811 Posted November 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2009 I couldn't agree with you more! 10 cruises, 6 on Carnival's spirit class, and my next cruise booked is on the Miracle, my third time sailing on her!

I see that you have not sailed RCCL Voyager class so you are making an unfair comparison overall. If you are talking only CCL ships then again, looking at your sig,you are not even in a position to make a comment like that as your experience is with less than half all classes overall. You have sailed Spirit class,Destiny class,Fanatsy class, and Triumph class. You have failed to sail on... Conquest class Dream class (i know it just came out:)) Holiday class Splendor class and lets not forget Carnivale,Festival,Jubilee,Mardi gras, and Celebration. GREAT ship, GREAT crew, and SUPER entertainment. What's not to like? (except grapes) :D "SKY"

Steve I totally agree with the Op on this one :) Since you are looking for a more rounded qualified response based on experience I can say that I've sailed on the Triumph twice, Liberty, Valor and Splendor each once. I have a cruise booked on the Dream which very well may be the end of the larger newer ships for us. After sailing on the Miracle I can say without a doubt based on my previous cruises that the Miracle has blown every single previous cruise away. There's just something about the design and the smaller number of passengers. It's almost as if by having fewer passengers the staff enjoys their job even more. The Miracle was as close to perfect as we've ever gotten a ship. Newer and bigger does not always mean better. Since this is a Carnival board there is no need to throw in any of the other cruise lines.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 20, 2009 #13 Share Posted November 20, 2009 I am a huge fan of the Spirit class as well. I also have high hopes (I know it's a couple years away at least) that the next build after the Magic will be of a size similar to the Spirit class (like they have built for HAL and Costa), but with some new enhancements, Seaside theater among them. As long as there is a Spirit class within driving distance for this west-coaster, I'm there.:)
frazzledrazzle16 Posted November 20, 2009 #20 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Hi-- My name is Stephanie and I am a Miracle addict. :D I've been on this ship three times (twice in the past year), and there is a good possibility for a fourth & fifth time. We are thisclose to booking a cruise right after New Years on her, and we are most definately going again next year when she sails to Aruba. Not only is the Miracle a great ship, but for some reason IMO it also has the BEST itineraries that Carnival offers.

I couldn't agree more. Miracle is such an easy ship to walk around. Everything is accessable and easy to find. The flow of people, even in Horatio's, is never clogged up or feels over crowded. Granted, Horatio's at standard meal time can be a challenge but if you go a little earlier or later I found it quite managable. We just got back a week ago and it was wonderful. It was my 2nd time on Miracle and I would not hestitate to book her again. The idea of the Dream or worse Oasis, is just not for me. Way too much ship and way too many people. The thought the number of passengers on Miracle (2100) is the number or CREW on Oasis is just mind boggling! Definetly not for me. Give me a Spirit class ship anyday
AZ Karaoke Girl Posted November 20, 2009 #23 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Spirit is my favorite too. I've been on the Pride too and liked it but I prefer Spirit over Pride in decor. The layout is what wins it for me. I also like the 4F (formerly 5A) catergories on Spirit class ships. For the price of an inside you get a door that open for fresh air and if you pick a room between lifeboats, you can have a view of some sort. I prefer them over regular ocean view. Of course balcony is the way to go as I had an aft extended balcony on my Spirit cruise but I had a 5A on Pride and booked one again for Spirit next October. All the elevators go to all the floors. Not like other ships that have some kind of room (dining room, club or whatever) that blocks you from continuing. I can walk from bow to stern on most decks without having to go up or down a set of stairs to continue. Love it.
deborahjo Posted November 20, 2009 #24 Share Posted November 20, 2009 We are really excited to be sailing on the Miracle next year. Ships are getting way to big for me. I like the smaller ones. Loved the Paradise and loved the Liberty but the Splendor is getting to big for me. Am afarid the Dream will be way to big.
dclark Posted November 21, 2009 #25 Share Posted November 21, 2009 I am looking forward to m first Spirit class cruise (on the Spirit) this Xmas. Over the last 11 years, I have done three cruises on the Fantasy class (2x Elation, 1x Ecstacy) and have done too may on the Conquest class ****s (Liberty, Freedom, 2x on Glory, 2x on Valor). I am really tired of the Conquest ships as they are just too crowded and that seems to bring out the worst in people. The Fantasy Class ships seemed to have a better ratio of people to ship. Spirit? Holds about the same number of people as a Fantasy class ship, but is 15K tons bigger? Sing me up!
