killineybay Posted November 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Anyone had a problem transferring a cruise from RCI to a TA lately? RCI claims not to have the personnel to do it since we initially tried on November 16. We have never done this before and are not sure how long it usually takes. Sue L Posted November 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2009 did you submit the form? It is right on the RCCL website, search travel agent and it is the second or third entry about transferring. Very easy.
Desert Cruizers Posted November 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2009 I transfered last Oct Cruise to our TA and the Agent directed me to the correct page to fill out the Transfer form. I printed it out and gave it to my TA who faxed the requests back to RCL. In fact I think they just called them, she told me they did this alot. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/en_US/pdf/TA_TransferForm.pdf
Ashland Posted November 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2009 When I did this for our last cruise my great TA took care of it and RCCL just called me to confirm it...easy no problems at all for a TA that knows what she's doing .....I do this often...make the origional reservation myself then have it transfered to my agent so she will get the credit...Since I used to work in the travel Industry the two of us together make a great team...Enjoy your cruise... PhoenixCruiser Posted November 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Don't you have to make the transfer before final payment? ###

OHCruisinDad Posted November 28, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 28, 2009 I've done it twice. Both my TA and I had confirmaiton within 24 hours of my form submittal to RCCL. Nothing could be easier.
Hypo Posted November 28, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 28, 2009 We just transferred to our TA. Called her, told her the details of our cruise booking and it was a done deal. No problems, had confirmation of the trasfer in about 4 days. Hypo

patseacruiser Posted November 28, 2009 #10 Share Posted November 28, 2009 I recently did a couple transfers and tho they told me it could take a few days when I checked a few hours later online they were already transferred. Has to be before final payment.
dag144 Posted November 28, 2009 #11 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Leaving Monday on the Radiance. Originally I booked with RCI. Everything was set up. Then I found a much better deal (cheaper by $450) from an on line site. Called the TA at the site and told him everything. He took care of the change with RCI. We kept the same cabin and reservation number - but the price was $450 less. I guess that a good travel agent can take care of this. Never heard a word from RCI, but I did check to make sure that the charges to my credit card were made by RCI and not the travel agent. This is very important. Hope this helps.:)
crusinmama06 Posted November 28, 2009 #12 Share Posted November 28, 2009 I guess that a good travel agent can take care of this. Never heard a word from RCI Or a travel agent who forges your signature. ;) All of my transfers are made using that document (posted above in Desert Cruizers post). As you can see, the passenger's signature is needed. :) As with all things, RCCL may have a loop hole. But generally, you do have to sign for a transfer. Desert Cruizers Posted November 28, 2009 #13 Share Posted November 28, 2009 dag144, our TA upon my authorization for a payment, will call the Cruise lines, who Charge our Credit Card, not our TA's office. I check our statement online to verify the charge and she will send us a receipt within 5 days, showing the payment & any balance.
