I haven't either and we have been sailing NCL for 15 years or more. anyone notice the OP is the same one that started the thread about how bad NCL is or was and yet, hasn't come back to defend her/his comments?? I think we have a TROLL here who is having a ball stiring the pot...

Apparently the latitide discounts CAN still be applied. I had never heard about them until someoneone posted a thread quoting the wording on the NCL. The following (I cut and pasted) is located on the latitudes page of the NCL web site under the Terms and Conditions tab:

On-Board Credit

Based upon your membership level in the Latitudes Program, you will receive one of our post-cruise Thank-You Notes with corresponding on-board credit when you graduate a Latitudes tier. The coupon is valid for 6 (six) months after completion of the cruise and can not be extended. Only 1 (one) onboard credit Latitude coupon can be redeemed per reservation. To take advantage of this offer and ensure receipt of Latitudes benefits on board, please provide Latitudes membership number at time of booking. Offer applies to Latitude members only upon qualifying for next highest tier (Bronze achieved after 1st completed cruise; Silver after 5th completed cruise; Gold after 9th completed cruise; Platinum after 14th completed cruise). Onboard credit offer in U.S. Dollars, per stateroom, based on cruise length and Latitudes program tiers. Onboard Credit may be spent for ANY onboard purchases. Onboard credit must be used or the remaining balance will be forfeited. Offer may be used by individuals, participants in qualified group bookings, by single guests and for use with third and fourth guest bookings. Onboard service charges are additional and will be automatically added to guest onboard account. Offer does not have monetary value and is non- transferable. 1-2 Day sailings are excluded. Offer excludes NCL Reduced Rate programs (e.g. casino, employee rates, interline, friends /family rates, vendor rates, or cruises taken via cruise credit certificate) and charters. Combinability with other offers is subject to change or cancellation at any time per NCL discretion. Cancellation fees will follow NCL schedule listed in the brochure and on website. NCL strongly recommends the purchase of Travel Protection on all bookings. Other restrictions may apply. In case of cancellation, onboard credit will be added back to the guest account.

Since we had just completed our 5th qualifying NCL cruise, and had not received a Thank-you note, I emailed the latitudes department asking about that and the onboard credit for our upcoming April cruise. Looks like we are going to get the onboard credit for changing latitude levels according to the email I received in answer. (I am definitely taking a copy of the email I received in return with me on the cruise just in case!)

Good Morning Mr. & Mrs. Lambs2,

Many thanks for your email and enquiry into Latitudes membership.

We have just altered the policy for the upgrade certificates and implied

the onboard credit coupon policy this week, so the email or mailing of

the coupon should be arriving soon. No need to worry if it arrives or

not we have applied the $XX onboard credit to your current booked

sailing. If you receive the coupon please disregard as it has already

been applied.

If you have any questions do not hesitate in contacting us.

Best Regards,

Latitude Clerical

We have recieved onboard credit for being Latitudesmembers.

Last year we should have recieved an onboard credit if we had booked with NCL Europe but we booked with NCL UK and didn't recieved a credit.

I have also received OBC for being a Latitudes member on LATITUDES cruises. The OP made it sound like you get an OBC just for being a member on whatever cruises.

Well maybe that explains the unknown OBC we received on our 2nd NCL cruise! It was $40, though, or $20 each.

After the 2nd cruise I got a thank you note with a form to fill out for a $25 reduction in fare for our next cruise.I do not recall that it said anything about 6 months, Nita. It arrived just after I'd booked another cruise and sent it in anyway and heard nothing back (and my amount owed did not change, either). Probably should have hung onto it since I booked another cruise shortly thereafter but no longer had the form in hand since I'd mailed it in.

However we got nothing extra on our 3rd, which was Pride of America, and no thank you note mentioning any discount etc. afterward (well, it's been two months since we left so maybe there's still time).

exactly; there is a big difference. OP did the same when posting about the bad cruise, he/she made statements that were only partly true..

Gold & Platinum Laundry

For bulk bag laundry service, which is subject to availability, Gold members receive 25% off retail price of bulk bag laundry service. Discount will be reflected on final bill which will be issued at the end of your Cruise. Platinum members receive complimentary bulk bag laundry service which provides each Platinum member with 1 bag of bulk bag laundry service per member, at no cost. Any additional bulk bag laundry service requested will be provided to Platinum members at 25% off retail price of the bulk bag laundry service. Any requests by Gold or Platinum members for bulk bag laundry services must be made pursuant to the terms of the promotion guidelines. To resolve any billing discrepancies, guest must visit the Latitudes representative.

This is from the NCL USA site. The credit is new. I didn't get a thank you note for my last cruise with the offer..which use to have a one level free upgrade.

So is the discount for Gold members laundry..

does that say the credit is only when you reach the number of cruises to advance to the next level or after every cruise? We used to get the one level after each cruise.. not one in five...although I must say I was only able to use the one level once.

The lord give eth and the lord take eth away.

I just looked on ncl.eu and the onboard credit is listed as one of the benefits.

Tack sverigecruiser for the information! I just booked last week the Jade 9 nights Morocco-Las Palmas-Madeira cruise for March and the Cruise Consultant at NCL Germany office didn't menotion that to me. I'll contact them tomorrow. As we have a mini suite and we're bronze level, this should give us a $100 OBC for the cruise.

I'll make sure to get their confirmation and again a confirmation on-board because on my last cruise on Gem, the NCL Germany promised OBC was never informed to the ship and I had to ask for a credit card refound afterwards.

I received this Thank You Note, filled it out and returned it. It took about three months to show up as an OBC of $25 on my account. So, its a slow process but you do get the "thank you" OBC with you graduate a Latitudes tier.

We've always just been outside the 6 months - July - Feb - Dec so never got it

But what we did get is a reduced price for being a latitudes member - in the UK that was £50 about $75 off.

We also buy a future cruise certificate that lasts 2 years whilst on board - We pay $250 for it - you get $100 OBC and $250 off your next cruise - so you get $100 OBC for nothing. as long as you are booking with them again.

thanks

I noticed it says one per Plat Latitudes for the laundry. Does that mean I get 2 days of free laundry because it's me and my husband? or no because we are in the same room?

For Le Bistro it says the same thing and every time my family of 4 goes they charge me for my kids.

Should I not be charged for my kids? For the past few cruises I have just paid and never questioned this.

I belive the reason youy are still charged for them is the following from the "rules" which say one benefit PER RESERVATION, not per latitude member: Only 1 (one) onboard credit Latitude coupon can be redeemed per reservation

Thank you for the answer. That is what I thought. So in August I have 2 rooms with 2 reservations. So in August it will work right? I guess I will have to tell them that I have 2 rooms when I book my dinner.

Yes. Sometimes it does not hurt to remind them of their own rules. Take a copy of "the rules" printed from the NCL web site - Under Latitudes and then the Terms and Conditions tab located there.
