Unfortunately, Host Randy said we probably won't get the news today. He said with every new piece of news he gets, he gets his hands slapped and told to seriously not say anything. :(:(:(

I know....but everything is in place to set up my group as soon as we can.....it seriously won't be much longer.....Promise :)

Unless I revisit the Uxmal ruins, there was nothing there that I could not see in Camden NJ, or the port of Newark NJ. :p

Galveston does need some new itineraries and there are more ports they can go that are reachable in 7 days.

 

I wish I could say the same about the West Coast. We are sooo limited out here.

Well you could start the rumor that they are going to Move the magic to the west coast by doing the trip around the horn again from Galveston and putting her in Long beach and moving the splendor to do the alaskan itin with her covered center lido deck.

Yes. I have been wondering the same thing for a long time. Why can't they do this itinerary out of Galveston???:confused:

I still think the aft hot tubs on the splendor would be great vantage points to watch the glaciers go by in alaska, and that huge covered center covered lido area can be such an asset for nightly lido parties on the chilly evenings.

That is very interesting....even though galveston is farther west...it does take 6 hours to get down the river from NOLA....anyone ever done the math on two ships leaving NOLA and Galveston arriving at a certain port?...That woould be interesting to see.:)

You would think they would! However, I may be in the minority in this...but I actually prefer the Conquest's western itinerary over the Belize/Honduras one. :o I'll be taking my 6th Conquest western cruise next spring, and I'm not tired of that itinerary yet! LOL! I was a bit underwhelmed with Belize but did enjoy Honduras.

I don't know if this is like comparing apples to oranges, BUT.... The Ecstasy and Triumph are often, if not always, docked side by side when they do the Cozumel/Progreso cruises.

Interestingly, a Carnival cruise vacation specialist told Cruise Critic that the transatlantic cruise was initially opened up in error -- they intended to serve only a group booking, but briefly opened the channel to public traffic. As of now, the mistake has been "corrected," and the line has nothing in the system beyond October 16, when the ship sails into Barcelona to conclude a Mediterranean cruise.
