heatherb1958 Posted September 27, 2016 #804 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Ship- Rhapsody of the seas Cabin - 7613 Inside cabin sideways layout. We love the layout of these cabins and have had them on Vision and Splendour. 7613 was above the Schooner bar and we could hear the piano player so well at night the words were clear!! Also during the day we could here the trivia quiz. Fortunately we do not go to bed too early ,the music at night finished by 11.30pm ish. and during the day we were out but if you like to take a nap in the day and are a light sleeper the cabin could be an issue. MrsB05 Posted October 31, 2016 #819 Share Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Ship - Anthem of the Seas Deck - 13 Stateroom # 13240 Stateroom Category - Spa Junior Suite Port Side Quiet Stateroom - For the most part. We were under The Living Room (teen hang out) and heard some thumping/running around/music two evenings when we retired earlier than usual but it didn't last too long (curfew is at 1 am for those under 18; this place is for those 12-17). We also heard what was likely cleaning going on one morning. The benefits of the stateroom location far outweighed the times we heard noise from above. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom ? - No Balcony size? - Somewhat on the small side for what we've come to expect from Junior Suites but not dinky by any stretch. We were on the bump out directly under the "M" and "of the" sign above us. Great view, no over hang in this area that others in other stateroom on Deck 13 have mentioned. Was wind a problem? - No. Any specific problem with this cabin ? - Only that it took us a few days to figure out that the handle to the sliding door had to be in the locked and upright position in order for the A/C unit to register the stateroom as "occupied" and thus operate. We were a little toasty for a while! There was no signage anywhere in the room that said this was necessary (we did know the door had to be closed). Any other comments? - Great location, very close to elevators/stairs. Didn't hear any noise for the hallways. Convenient to The Windjammer and Pool Deck. Quite the haul walking up the stairs from the gangway on Deck 3, though! The room itself was nicely appointed; we liked the modern decor and found it a pleasant change from Royal's typical pink/green/yellow oak/heavy curtains that we've found on every other ship we've been on. Lots of neat technoid stuff like the lights being powered by the Sea Pass card (hint: any loyalty card/credit card will do the trick), the large TV, lots of outlets and places to charge cell phones, Kindles, etc. The bathroom was split with a commode and basin in one and the soaking tub and rain shower and another basin in the other. This is what made it a "Spa JS". It was ok; very modern, but, the doors kept ramming into each other and, well, I prefer the standard JS bathrooms. Plenty of space to hang clothes in the closet (not a walk in) plus drawers and cubbies. Our luggage fit easily under the bed (a first!) SnowBird Cruzer Posted November 20, 2016 #824 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Ship - Majesty of the Seas Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 1032 Stateroom Category – Grand Suite Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet. Johnny Rockets was above us and there was some noise like moving of chairs/tables around 11pm. It wasn't bothersome for us. The hallway was pretty quiet. On the Majesty, all the Junior and Grand suites are together, so it wasn't a hallway used by everyone to get around. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – We had a great view, no obstructions. However, we did not have much of an overhang and so on our one rainy day, it was hard to use the deck. The other Grand Suites (1034/1036/1038) all had a larger overhang due to the layout of deck 11. While this might have obstructed your view of the sky, it would have kept the rain off of you. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony was normal for the class on this ship. Majesty is older and smaller than most other ships so the balcony was smaller than some others we've had. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - One unique problem, and it's good to know about. We were leaving our room one day and my wife noticed the door did not lock. We told our room steward and he got maintenance up right away. We had to make a trip back to the room a few minutes later and it was already being worked on. Apparently, the locks have some batteries for power (I never thought about how the card reader worked or what powered the little green/red lights) and ours had ran out of juice. He changed the batteries and it worked great. I guess I'll have to be a bit more vigilant in checking our door when we leave. Any other comments? - While the bathroom was big, there was no "medicine cabinet" with the mirror. As such, we had no little shelving units to put various toiletries in, as we are used to on other ships. There was a big shelf behind the sink, behind the toilet tank that we set everything on. I'd rather have a medicine cabinet. And, there wasn't a lot of headroom for me when I was showering. I am only 6' 1", so not that tall. I believe I've had more head room in other rooms on most other ships. But you have to step up a couple of inches from the main floor into the bathroom, and then you step up into the tub to take a shower, so you lose 3-4 inches overall. That was a little disappointing.
