New York Is Thatta Way Man!: Another World's Longest Miracle Review

Nicole,

I am loving your review of Miracle! The Spirit class of ships are our favorite - large enough to get around, yet small enough that you don't feel crammed like one sometimes does when on the Conquest ships.

I hope to go on Miracle next year (perhaps after our Mediterranean cruise), as the Southern route is one that I am really itching to do!

Hurry up with the rest of the review! :D

I don't know how you find time to do everything you do on a cruise with all the pictures you take. You have the absolute best pictures. That being said, we are going on the Miracle again this Sunday, Sept. 12 and are so looking forward to it. I was hoping that you had some pictures of the ports of call posted by the time we left but we will get to take some of our own very soon. Keep up the excellent work.

Okay...I fail. I've been insanely busy lately. I'm sorry!!!

But I did update! :) I hope everyone enjoys it and I'll be back later to respond to all of your wonderful (and very appreciated) comments that I've missed the past few weeks!

We were on the cruise right before you.....loved Miracle and HMC and GT! Booked this same cruise for 5/6/11 :D And LOVE your review! We live 15mins. from Geo Washington Bridge into Manhattan and have never done HALF of what you did in NYC! Kudos to you! WHERE is the rest of the review? Looking forward to it and thank you for sharing!

Nicole,

You've mentioned the sangria on the Miracle on your other blog(s) before. Every time you talk about sangria it makes me want to make some. You say that you like your sangria the best. So I've gotta ask you for your recipe. Please share!

Karen you kept the ship in great shape for us this year. Keep it in great shape again for us next year. We are the 5/14/11 sailing. We got an aft balcony (not a wrap). The schedule came out while we were onboard. We booked it and got $100 OBC.

Love your reviews!

We are going on an 8 day in a few months on the Miracle, What day, in your opinion, is the best day to do the steakhouse? I haven't had the chance to really see what "down time" was in the dinner menu.

Thank you!

The best way to really decide what day to go down to the steakhouse is to take a look at the menus and decide which one appeals to you less :)

Love the food porn

Glad you enjoy it! :)

Thanks! It really is a night and day difference between the Spirit and Conquest class ships, isn't it? I much prefer the features of the newer, bigger ships, but the layout and perceived space ratio is really what keeps me coming back to the Spirit class ships :)

Nicole, since you book your rooms and switch inhabitants later, what do you do about the luggage tags? Do you not bother to switch tags and just move cases on your own? Thx! Christine

Ps loving, loving, loving your review!

Hi Christine! :)

We just switch the luggage since we're usually booked next to each other, but you could just switch the tags and put the correct names with the correct room numbers on the tag and no one would know the difference or check :)

Anoither terrific review. Can't wait to read some more.

Nice way to relive it.

Thank you! :D

I've eaten in the steakhouse on 3 different ships, maybe 4 and service has always seemed to be the weak link. I like a leisurely pace but sometimes service is painfully sloooow.

Yeah, and I mean, anyone who's ever shared a meal with me will tell you that I'm a painfully slow eater and really, this was insanely slow, even by my standards. I think if this happens the next time we dine in the steakhouse, we'll probably just ask for them to speed the meal up a bit.

Hopefully I'll have something for you this week! :D

Just read Nicole's latest installment on her blog-dated Sept. 14- great review.

Diane

Thanks for bringing that over for me, Diane :) I went to come post it after I wrote it, but the board was down for the evening (or early morning as it was LOL) and then I just got busy again!

Another great posting. I can't wait to read what you have to say about the interesting day at HMC.

Oy. HMC day. I'm shivering thinking about it.

Hey Karen! You know, living in Chicago, when I read what people do, see and eat when they visit my city, I often realize that I've never done most of it! I'm 25 and the first time I went to the top of the Sears Tower was a few months ago! Go figure! But there's something to be said about being a tourist in your own city. I was downtown taking pictures yesterday with one of my friends and decided it would be fun for us to do one of those double decker tours just to see Chicago from a different vantage point, so we're going to try to do that before the weather turns.

Thanks for the kind words, as well :)

Bahaha. I'll have to pay attention to the proportions next time I make it because I kind of just do it all by feel and taste! Usually, a bottle of two buck Chuck from Trader Joes (whatever I have on hand), a lot of freshly cut fruit (whatever I've got on hand again LOL), a splash of peach Absolut (if I have it on hand), some club soda and a heavy hand of Peach Schnapps ;)

Great review!

Thank you!!! :)
