kasualkathy Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Does anyone know what time the early seating (6pm) in the MDR ends? I was thinking of reserving some shows that start at 8:30 and want to make sure I can get to the show in time before they give away the seats. I've read you need to be in the venue at least 15 minutes before the show starts. Of course, would like to get there earlier to get a good seat. gerif Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 You should be done by 7:30 - they need to clear out the room and set up for second seating.
davewcur Posted January 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I would think if you had show reservation once you finished eating, you could leave, nothing is keeping you in the MDR but yourself.

Langley Cruisers Posted January 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Does anyone know what time the early seating (6pm) in the MDR ends? From personal experience, we have never had dinner go past 7:30. I fully understand some dinners take up to two hours, but the fastest we have ever been was sitting down right at 6, finished by 6:50. If you have something special planned for the evening, arrive promptly, and tell your wait team you have plans. They will be only too happy to accomodate you. If you feel the need to leave before dessert (which you certainly may want to do), you can always have dessert and coffee later in the Windjammer before 9 pm, or anytime at the Café Promenade. CruizCuz Posted January 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Everywhere I read, it talks about making reservations for shows. I am sailing on the Radiance OS in a couple of months, and haven't been with RCCL in a while....13 years to be exact. On Carnival, it's first come, first serve. Are there other things I should be aware of? Sorry to hijack the thread....
Langley Cruisers Posted January 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Everywhere I read, it talks about making reservations for shows. I am sailing on the Radiance... Show reservations are only for Oasis and Allure at this time. Because there are so many passengers, they run the shows several times during each cruise and they take reservations for said shows. nelblu Posted January 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Assuming you get to the MDR on time, it should be no longer than 1 hour or less to complete your dinner. Plenty of time to play some slots before heading to the show.
F5Loar Posted January 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2011 It was around 7:30 each night last week on the Oasis for us and we got there by 6:05 each night.
