MikeyA53 Posted February 20, 2011 Author #176 Share Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Mike these pictures are fantastic! We will be going on the Pride soon and wondered is there heat in the staterooms? Leaving from Baltimore in the cooler months we are concerned there would be no heat on the ship. How about the public rooms and the Lido buffet? Did it seem cold there? Thanks!:D Thanks islandcruisersnc, don't worry about the temperature, the rooms throughout the ships were comfortable, including our cabin. The lido deck could be chilly at times especially if your sitting by the sliding doors to the outside. Litewait Posted February 21, 2011 #180 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Thanks Litewait, I see you have Paradise coming soon followed by Spendor. Here wishing you a fantastic time on both of them. Mike Yep, the Paradise is for my 50th birthday... But the Splendor will be the real celebration as ds will be 7 months post Tommy John surgery and be able to start his throwing program. AndrewD65 Posted February 21, 2011 #181 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Mike, your reviews have inspired me to book again. I could not put down your b2b2b2b review. It was so awesome. I loved everything you did and Congrats on your proposal. I loved all your photos on the ships you have been on. I do have one question, what camera do you use to take these awesome photo's? Anyway I can't wait for more of your review. Andrew
cruisingstar Posted February 21, 2011 #182 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Enjoying your review and pictures. Makes me want to book another. Good luck to Tracy with her new career and training. May you both stay safe. As the wife of a retired corrections officer I know it's not easy. My husband was in the service when we were first married and we spent some time apart - never six months - much shorter times but more of them. It will seem like an eternity but before you know it you'll be back together.:)
MikeyA53 Posted February 21, 2011 Author #183 Share Posted February 21, 2011 . The one thing that I disliked about ‘The Winner’s Club Casino’ situated on Deck 2 midship, was that there’s no boulevard to bypass it, in other words you have to walk through it to get from one end of the ship to the other. Even tho the smoke wasn’t too bad (good ventilation) it was still unpleasant at times.

jbhcw Posted February 21, 2011 #185 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Mikey..having to walk through the casino is one of the main things I remember about the Pride:) Certainly different from the Fantasy class. I don't think you've gotten to pictures of the bathroom yet? We're in a balcony cabin on both the Pride and Spirit this year and trying to remember what type of storage space is in the bathroom..I usually bring my over the door hanger...but we're trying to cut back in the luggage department as we will be driving with a total of 7 people...Will you be posting pictures or can you tell me if there is a counter or shelving...our last time on a Spirit class was 2002...way too long:D and I can't remember:eek:

MikeyA53 Posted February 21, 2011 Author #188 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Hey Mike:Loved your B2B2B2B2 review and when I saw you were cruising the Pride, I started anticipating the Pride Review!! As Karen mentioned, I can't wait to hear what you think of the Spirit class! You mentioned it was Tracy's fave--what about you and Mitchell? We LOVE the Spirit class, especially the Miracle and there is nothing like cruising from NYC! We cruised the Pride in October and the weather was great. We were lucky enough to see a rocket launch when we were in Port Canaveral. We did have plans to go to the Kennedy Space Center but they were closed due to the rocket launch--awesome experience. Wishing your family all the best as Tracey begins her new journey! I so admire Tracey for starting something brand new! Karen from SJ (Don't want to hijack but HI to Cruisin Karen from NJ from Karen from SJ. Say hey to Jim! We are cruising the week after you this time!) . Thank you Karen, from both of us. MikeyA53 Posted February 21, 2011 Author #189 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I had no idea they changed the Aft pool area to an adults only section. We spent a lot of time out there anyway and I'm sure we'll be spending even more time out there on the next cruise. Great review so far. Thanks Anung Un Rama. :)

babyher Posted February 21, 2011 #192 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Great review and beautiful pics as always Mike . I am enjoying it very much. Thank you for taking the time to share with all of us. I had to do a double take when I first started reading. I live about 5 minutes away from the Hyatt in Milford where you stayed the first night. So people really do stay at those hotels they have been building there these past few years *LOL* Glad you had such a great time. Best of luck to Tracey. That is an awesome career move.:)

After the first day, she was using Deck 3 to get from one end of the ship to the other. Pool tables Very cool. I must have missed viewing this area as none of it looks familiar to me. And here I thought I thought I saw everything. ----- I love reading trip reports about the Pride, especially those with pictures. Excellent report so far. I look forward to reading more. :)
Sir Cruise-a-Lot Posted February 21, 2011 #194 Share Posted February 21, 2011 Great pictures, we sailed on the pride last winter and had a great cruise also. Living in Virginia it is nice to skip the air fare to take a cruise economically. We sailed this year on the Victory and had one of the best cruises ever but next year we will likely cruise out of Baltimore again. Maybe even on the Pride. I too want to know more about your pictures. What camera did you use and did you do any after shot processing? The pictures of the lounge are so well light. Thanks for the review. You have to walk through to get between the Atrium and Taj Majal theatre. Worse yet, the boulevard takes you right through the slots and bar area, where most of the smokers gather. On our cruise, the smoking was pretty bad (take that with a grain of salt since my wife and I are both ex-smokers) and we usually went to a different deck to avoid walking through the casino. If smoke bothers you I would HIGHLY suggest to anyone to scope out a spot on deck 2 aft of the Atrium when waiting to self debark. Being our first cruise, we waited in the Taj Majal and had to walk through all the smokers sitting in the casino. We were the first to debark so the place was FULL. To make matters worse, the line backed up into the casino so we had to actually just stand there and wait.

Anung Un Rama Posted February 21, 2011 #197 Share Posted February 21, 2011 It's amazing to see the amount of changes since we were on the Pride a few months ago. We spend a lot of time in the casino and it's nice to see they added tv's. The Texas Hold'em is in a new location and the pool tables are completely new. Looks like they've gotten rid of a few of the slot machines closer to the sports bar.

Yes, between the addition of the Serenity Adult area where the Aft bar on deck 9 was, to the changes in the casino, looks like the Pride went thru some changes during her Dry dock!! My fave 1 cent video poker is gone :( (hopefully just moved :D)
MikeyA53 Posted February 21, 2011 Author #199 Share Posted February 21, 2011 . Muster was at 4 p.m. As on previous cruises we arrived later so that we were not to far back in the lines. Very unpleasant when it’s hot but this time it would have been an advantage, because being in the back would have sheltered us from the cold. Actually it wasn’t that bad, about 45 degrees.
