i have a quick question whenever you're bored stiff (lolol like that could happen when you're cruisin')

in this pic of yours..

there are 3 big vent looking things below the little mini-lifeboat. Do you know if those are indeed vents and if they make a lot of noise? I know originally i was going to go in 2298 (same as yours, right?) but i'm thinking if i go with 2284, i'd not have a big lifeboat overhead and could take advantage of that gap in the lifeboats and have a better view of the sky. But if those are indeed vents and they make a lot of noise or expell nasty smelly stuff, it wouldn't be worth it for the extra view.

Any idea on what they are and if they make noise? Thanks a ton.

May be covered in your other report but did they sell future cruise certificates on the Magic? Thanks.

They are selling FCCs.

Don't notice them at all. More noise from door slammers. They do seem to have an automatic washer somewhere above us that around 12:15 rains some on our balcony.

Titles are on the list of things to do, but are about the most time consuming, so will probably wait until a sea day or two (in between naps).

Tonight we are going to probably skip the MDR and just do Lido.

I love it when you cruise!! Does the Cucina del Capitano offer the same Pasta bar menu for lunch as the Carnival Dream or is it closed at lunch?

Same pasta bar menu as Dream - better ambiance!

I recall reading here on CC that most (?) of the casino is non-smoking.

Can you ballpark that for me?

Is only 25% smoking? More? Less? THANKS! Enjoying your reports so far! :)

Same smoking as Dream, but I think the Magic casino is less "smokey".

The non-smoking piano bar is GREAT!

Sarge, as always we are enjoying your pics! It was great to meet you on the inaugural and we hope you fully enjoy the BTB.

Jerry

Thank you. It was a pleasure meeting you, as well.

can you do me a huge favor while your on the ship can you try to get me a past guest pin

No. I believe people need to earn the pins. Besides, the pins on Magic are a big disappointment.

I have spent hours on your website looking at the pictures over and over. DH is starting to get upset, as I am completely enthralled with each new set of photos, and he is being completely ignored .

Hi! Thanks for posting these great pics. Your Livorno photos bring back great memories!

We are sailing on the Magic in a Cove Balcony. I noticed your stateroom does not have a lifeboat above. I've searched the boards but have not been able to find which "coves" do not have lifeboats. Is that something you can investigate for me - if you have some down time, that is? I booked 2310. Am I in the clear?

Happy cruising! Chelle

You're (collectively) welcome! :)

Supposed to be crappy weather in Dubrovnik tomorrow (AGAIN). Oh well. It we were going to be in Italy somewhere, I'd say make limoncello? Not sure what they do in Croatia.

A couple of pages of sea day 1 posted, including a "galley" tour. Enjoy!

Great pics. I am really getting excited for our trip. We go on our cruise in 3 weeks. Did you take the train to Livorno? If so, how did you get to the train station. Does Carnival provide a shuttle into town? If so, how much was it. Carnivals excursion site has been down for 3-4 weeks. Can't wait to see more of your pictures.
