CruiseGal97 Posted May 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2011 On the cruise I like to bring cards to play trash with my family. Is there anything that would be easy to pack but good for family and kids???
arush5268d Posted May 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Perhaps some age appropriate board games or something of the such... What are the ages involved?

nytraveller53 Posted May 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2011 I don't know that entertainment for the actual cruise is necessary at all. My family and I didn't bring it, and we were more than entertained. Maybe for the flight, though? iPods, cards, etc. are all good ideas.
AWCHIEF Posted May 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2011 ------a good book? I take my Kindle, that is about all the entertainment that I need on a cruise.
mojean Posted May 16, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Are you driving? Check out a bookstore. What about backgammon, crosswords, boggle and scrabble. Look in toy store too for travel games. Mini simon would be great.
rjrice1 Posted May 16, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2011 We pack a simple dice game call right, left, center. We play with dimes, and it is fun. Others will ask to join you. Cathy
AmyLee Posted May 16, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Hi there We have taken Uno Cards, and regular cards. Another tidbit of information I have seen on some of my other cruises that they do have a few board games in the library. Just in case you don't want to pack alot of stuff. We only used ours if we got into a little shower. Hope this helps
SadieN Posted May 17, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2011 DD is now addicted to Banagrams. A word game like Scrabble. The packaging is a banana, very cute. We've also seen the Apple and the Pear word games by the same company.

We've been looking at the other two mentioned, and will probably pick them up. Easy to pack, easy to play!:)

txmom11 Posted May 17, 2011 #17 Share Posted May 17, 2011 What is farkle? Just the coolest dice game ever! We bring a deck of cards so we can play rummy on deck. We (that would be translated, I) have to get out of the sun because I am painfully fair-skinned. We will probably bring Phase 10 with us this summer. Even if we never play it, it good to have a back up just in case the weather forgets we are on vacation.
DANCING GRANDMOMMY Posted May 17, 2011 #18 Share Posted May 17, 2011 We like Tri-omonios, Farkle, Catch phrase (if there are a few of you, although one time I walked up to a group of strangers and said this 2 team game is really fun will you try it with us for 5 min? 1/2 hour later they still did not want us to leave) Since there is a group of us goin this time, I picked up a card game version of battle of the sexes.
