Which Dress?

Hello, this will be our first cruise and I am up in the air on which dress to wear for formal night. I want to look nice. I have narrowed it down to two. The shorter, red spaghetti strap dress, or the elegant, full black dress. Please lend me you experiences and let me know if the red dress will suffice and be formal enough, or should I go with the black. Attached is a pic of the 2 dresses side by side. Since this is my first cruise I don't want to be over or under dressed (if you know what I mean). Thanks in advance for you advice. :)

Wear the dress you like best, or your sig. other likes best. Either one sounds fine.

In the interest of packing, the red dress does sound easier and lighter. You would stand out in a sea of black, since so many are in black. That is a good thing. Red looks great on everyone. So, if it were me, I'd wear the red.

They both look nice, but I think the red one is prettier. It's fun, flirty and still elegant. (I swear, I should have been one of the "queer eye" guys lol

Some things to consider.

Time of year traveling - not so important for Caribbean cruises.

Itinerary - I think the red one might get chilly on a cold climate cruise

Do you have a cover-up for the red dress? You may want to stroll the outside decks before or after dinner, and it might be chilly (and certainly windy)

The red dress would be better for after dinner dancing (in my opinion)

The length of the cruise (you may have 2 formal nights)

If I were a woman, I'd take them both. I know it's impractical for packing, but that way if you get onboard and change your mind you have the other option.

All that said, the red dress has my vote. But you should go with the one you like the best and the one you think you look best in.

LES!
