Hi wolfcathorse....

I'm sailing today onboard Mariner from Singapore and I'll do a B2B2B that ends 8 January.

Is they're a standard length of each rotation or does it vary.

I heard that a standard contract would be 10 weeks but it can vary greatly (usually making the contract longer not shorter). On a recent sailing our Captain had been on 10 weeks and had been due to go home but due to getting a relief Captain sorted he was staying on a further 4 weeks.

Robert is on EN for a few weeks.

 

Hi Beth! Robert is, for now, the travelling Hotel Director. His request, and the ship that he loves is the Radiance of the Seas. To get there, he had to agree on being a roving HD. My understanding is that he will have his permanent job in March.

 

And when we return to the NV in February, we will get to find out who the surprise new captain will be.

I'm so happy for Robert that he is getting to move to Radiance eventually. When he gets to head to AK, that means he can see family now and then in Vancouver. I sure will miss him on NV. Wondering Who the new Capt will be on NV, too.

Dry dock happened within the rotation of Captain Tore but Captain Johnny joined for this task as well.

We were on the first cruise after the dry dock and Capt. Johnny was not the captain. And though I think that Capt. Johnny can be a bit of a ham I would much prefer to sail with him then the captain that we had.

Currently it is ten weeks but he should be on until March 15.

As I recall, sometimes he would do 11 weeks.

Bob, as you know, all captains work with their relievers, so if one needs extra holiday time, the other captain can extend his/her time on, and then make up for it at a later date.

 

That is why wolf can only put a start of rotation date, and the end of rotation is only a guess, and no one knows for sure except the master of the ship, and unless they send someone an email, or let them know while aboard, when their end date is.....otherwise, just a good guess on anyone's part of when the two captains switch.

Apparently Capt Kjetil on LOS has been changing the clocks back before visiting Belize and Cozumel this past Dec. Does anyone know if Capt Teo generally changes the clocks or leaves it on eastern time?
