carncruiser1964 Posted August 15, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 15, 2011 A bit confused. I didn't see Pumpkin soup or French Onion soup, both of which were delish! will be very upset if they took those off. I wasn't too impressed with the new selections. Would have been happier to keep it the way it was. IMO ;)
njmomof2 Posted August 15, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 15, 2011 I was a bit perturbed when I saw that the menus had been redone but I have to say that this new menu does offer some interesting options to try. I love escargot, so I'm always happy to have it on a menu. I don't eat shrimp cocktail so not having it on the menu daily (if that's true) is not a big deal for me. I don't eat a lot of carbs, so I'm always looking for options that eliminate the potatoes, rice and breads. It appears that there are some options that I can try when we sail Glory later this month. Thanks for posting.

I wasn't too impressed with the new selections. Would have been happier to keep it the way it was. IMO ;) I agree about the pumpkin soup - a favorite of mine since my first Carnival cruise. But I gotta say, I don't see many changes here - a great many dishes on these "new" menus have been Carnival mainstays for years. No problem, as I've always enjoyed Carnival's food, but calling these "new" menus is a stretch.
critcatny Posted August 15, 2011 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2011 I like the new menu...might have lost shrimp every night or another dish or 2 that was good, but the new stuff looks interesting plus the other choices are just fine, no different from before. Seems you'll have 10 choices every night plus the *1* comfort food choice. Sounds fine to me. I, for one, am looking forward to trying some of the "didja" choices like shark firecracker roll or alligator fritters and more. Havent seen the dessert menu yet, wonder if that is changing as well. I dont see why people feel they have to have the same of any food every night, just enjoy it when they do and find something else that looks good the other times. Just my opinion..... bonniemari Posted August 15, 2011 #20 Share Posted August 15, 2011 Thanks GoingwiththeFlow for posting this. I was wondering where to find them. I like the new menu. I hate it for the people who like to have the shrimp cocktail everynight, but I am in the "I can make shrimp cocktail easily enough at home" camp. Looking forward to the Oyster Rockafellar. The one time I tried that at home it didn't turn out to well:). Fried chicken is another thing I don't do well. Not a fan of the buffet but I try to have a couple of peices when they do have it on the buffet, but I do miss the mashed potatoes w/brie that used to go with it. Hopefully, with all the uproar removing the shrimp has caused the "ones in charge" will rethink their decision.
