I LOVE those lights in the ceiling on Neptunes Way... not sure it matches the rest of the decor but I want those lights in my house!!!!!! ===> Not before my wife gets her hands on them! :D The green in the atrium is so pretty! Do you have any dining room pics? I had to tell my wife those lights wouldn't fit into her suitcase!! :D Here are a few Dining Room pics... Breakfast. . Aplmac Posted September 5, 2011 #29 Share Posted September 5, 2011 Alpmac your pictures are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. ===> You're welcome. Where were you when you took the night time shot of the Victory at sea? I was standing near the Bridgetown Port, Barbados but.... Victory visits us in Barbados every Wednesday, like clockwork. She docks at 7 a.m. and departs at 5 p.m. You can set your watch by her schedule. But... this one time there was a suspected case of (Bird-Flu?) or something nasty like that, on board there was all sorts of delays and confusion re. all passengers on board, and their tours etc. and so her departure was delayed until 7:30 p.m. I realized I would have the rare opportunity to get photos of her leaving Barbados in the pitch black of night -and that's how it happened! . nae418 Posted September 6, 2011 #30 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Aplmac: Amazing pictures!!! We are sailing on Victory next summer! Were you seated for dinner at a window table? Did you put a review with pictures on CC? I'd like to see all of them if possible. Thank you. Nae
Aplmac Posted September 6, 2011 #31 Share Posted September 6, 2011 . Aplmac: Amazing pictures!!! ===> I use special lenses on the Nikon...Not yer ordinary stuff.. Were you seated for dinner at a window table? Did you put a review with pictures on CC? I'd like to see all of them if possible. We've been on Victory four? times now and have been seated all over. Breakfast seating is a random thing in the Dining Rooms for the evening meal it's pretty much a fixed thing. We try hard not to eat at the Lido trough.... I don't do reviews (although I think you might find two?) My input is via photos, of which I have 3,000+ posted to Cruisecritic's Photo Gallery . BETH_M Posted September 6, 2011 #32 Share Posted September 6, 2011 I am thinking about booking the 11/6/11 sailing on the Victory for our 1st wedding anniversay trip. Does anyone know what the weather is like at the ports as far as temps, humidity, and rain? Also what is the best location for for a balcony cabin, aft, mid, front? I am wondering if we should save this trip for next spring if weather is better and then be able to plan better since we only have 2 months. Thanks for your help. I love the pics! AryMay Posted September 6, 2011 #33 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Promenade Deck 3 - under the lifeboats. One of the quieter spots on board - remember that.. . We also just booked the Victory for January 22, 2012. This will be our first cruise out of San Juan but our second on the Victory. Do you know if there are still deck chairs on the deck under the life boats? This was our favorite spot to spend a sea day on our last Victory cruise...very quiet and shaded. I was disappointed when we were on the Legend last summer and no chairs were allowed on this deck. Apparently the Legend uses this deck as a muster station in case of an emergency and the chairs would be a hazard.

We did this cruise over Thanksgiving 2010. The weather was perfect! No humidity. The hurricane season is pretty much over by this time. The last storm struck St. Lucia on Halloween last year, so we were in the clear. Aft-view is all I can say! I loved it. Everywhere we docked, we had a fabulous view! Don't save it, do it then. The rates are also the best in November.

Apparently the Legend uses this deck as a muster station in case of an emergency and the chairs would be a hazard. No deck chairs that I recall, but there are a few built-in benches here and thereso there is some seating. On Victory, Muster Station deck is Deck 4 -at the same level as the lifeboats i.e. one deck above the Deck 3 shot I posted above...and not ordinarily open and available to the cruising public. Here's what Muster Sta. Deck 4 looks like... Very utilitarian.. .

Aplmac Posted September 6, 2011 #43 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Great photos Aplmac! Thanks for the kind words, Judy...................... Our last cabin on Victory was 2314 -an interior cabin on Deck 2. Can you say....Smooth ride :) My only complaint was the bare walls, sans pics! I thought...Geez guys, at least hang some cheap tacky prints on that expanse of beige One picture hanging over the bed, where no-one particularly looks at it doesn't make sense. That picture could have been facing us as we lay in bed. .

carribeanpirate18 Posted September 6, 2011 #45 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Sure can! What aspects of the ship would you like to see??Give me some leads! :) . Thanks! Anything is helpful....Actually, we usually sail RCL and are used to the newer ships. We have some concern about sailing on a smaller older ship. Trying not to act spoiled, but we sailed Liberty of the Seas twice, so the bar was set pretty high.
carribeanpirate18 Posted September 6, 2011 #46 Share Posted September 6, 2011 One more question.....trying to understand the difference between and Ocean Suite and a balcony. There will be three of us (Me, wife, stepson who is 16 and an adult). Anyone know the difference in these rooms? Anyone have pictures?
PirateGal Posted September 6, 2011 #47 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Aplmac - can u recommend some excursions at each port? I'm trying to get that organized for us this week. Thanks!
cruisin'grandma Posted September 6, 2011 #48 Share Posted September 6, 2011 I gotta tell ya' that these pics made my heart palpitate, my stomach do flip flops, brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye. I am so excited for this cruise. As I am for every cruise I take. But....you cannot beat the Southern Caribbean in a balcony cabin. I do love the Promenade deck for the quiet. Disappointed that we cannot get chairs. Love taking a nap out there. Our balcony is not big enough for a lounge chair. So..........guess I will prop open my balcony door and nap in my bed. :p Thank you so much for sharing these pics. The best!!!!!
Aplmac Posted September 6, 2011 #49 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Aplmac - can u recommend some excursions at each port? I'm trying to get that organized for us this week. Sorry to disappoint but... I may be the wrong person to ask about excursions? I'm not American - I've lived in these islands now for 60+ years and so my perspective on what constitutes a Carib. holiday is diametrically opposite to that of yer average N.American. - in other words give me MANHATTAN, ok? It's a great place to holiday, seriously! For suggestions re. excursions I suggest you go to the Caribbean message boards at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=587 and search around, per island-destination. When I visit Carib. ports I often simply take the nearest half-day tour offer for $20-25 just to say I did something -and to take pics to show y'all..... The best! ===> Thank you. At her last dry dock' date=' Victory moved the mini-golf course to the area surrounding the big ole whale-tail funneland converted the area on those small high decks up forward for the new adults only [i']Serenity [/i]area. Best way for a Grandma with arthritic knees to get up there is to catch one of the elevators in the atrium area which go all the way up to Deck 11. Some atrium elevators go only to Deck 10, so check that out. It's not the glass elevators that go all the way to 11 -it's the regular ones.. That ride will put you right up there --or to within one deck of Serenity. Fairly sure I remember Serenity areas on two decks, Sky and Sun?.. so do look around for one that suits you --and there's a bar up there -and shade. .
