The Legend Review that I never thought would be posted

Had you actually contacted the Players club and given them all the information from your previous cruise so they could rate you for this cruise?

Like I said, since February of this year I have been having trouble getting them to respond to emails. They completely refuse to use anything but your most recent cruise, which annoy's my only because I cruise 3 or 4 times a year and always have 5000+ points.....you would think you could get a little more loyalty comps based on your cruise history.

I'm getting ready to go on the Conquest on Sunday and immediately following that (I mean the next day after I get off the ship) I am getting on the Triumph.......but the Players club said I would have to call after the Conquest trip and get rated for the Triumph based on my previous weeks play.

They said I could also ask the Casino Host to send a note to the Triumph host to enlist his help. I'm also going to print out my player history on the last night of the 1st cruise.

We always contact Player's Club prior to the cruise. I, too, sent numerous emails with no response and then opted to call them. I spoke with Michael and he said that I would be getting the Premium Package and Brad would be getting 2 bottles of wine and $150 at the cage. I asked for an email confirmation, which never came. I will elaborate more on this later as it is included at the end of the review.

Printing your play is an excellent idea and we will check into that. Thanks.

Do you know what the rules are on carrying an unfinished drink from the restuarant back on the ship? Is it allowed? Just curious for future adventures. ;)

and am loving the review as well....always enjoy seeing others pictures and the fun they have.

I've never had any problems bringing my drink back on the ship. Don't know what the "rules" are, but they never stopped me and the yards are not easy to confisicate.

We went to the casino for a bit before dinner and I started to have a problem with my stomach not feeling all that well. I figured it was all the Banana Banshees I drank.

For dinner Brad & I both had the Caesar salad and French onion soup. I had beef ribs and Brad had pork loin. We both thought everything was good tonight. Jimmy & Lillian went to the show (Motown) and then to the comedy show. They said both were great and very enjoyable.

After dinner, we went back to the casino where Brad said it was his mission at this point to just get the drink card and be done with it, which he did and then went back to the BJ table. I saw David briefly and asked him how he was doing and this was his reply – “I could really use a drink right now.” Hmmmm…..not really the response I had anticipated. He didn’t elaborate and just walked away. Brad told me that the Casino Manger (Mustafa) had stopped by the BJ table and had a long conversation with him. Brad explained what we had experienced so far and Mustafa said that David was new. He apologized, but that was that. We played for a while and then went to the room around 1:30am and started feeling kind of weird again. I had bad anxiety and my whole body started shaking. It would not go away and about 3 am I called the infirmary. I understood that it was after hours but the nurse seemed more concerned with telling me that if a doctor was called it would cost me $185 (and yes, we did have the insurance, but she never asked about that). I told her that I would call back if I needed to see a doctor. I finally started feeling better around 4am and fell asleep.

Day 4 - Belize

At 9am, we woke up to someone knocking on the door. It was Oka, our cabin steward wondering if we were in the room so he could clean. He apologized, but we figured we might as well get up and go get something to eat. I seemed to be feeling better and the seas were pretty calm so we decided to take a tender into town after breakfast. We didn’t eat too much and then headed down to the gangway to board the tender. We didn’t take the first one as it was a single “V” tender and I had a bad experience in Belize on that type of tender in the past.

I didn’t want to take any chances after last night. We waited for the next tender, which was a double “V” and sailed more smoothly. We finally boarded and it took about 20 minutes to get to shore. We did some shopping and found a place called Cate’s Place that offered all day internet service for $5. We paid the $5 and checked our email. One note about the internet – we sought out WiFi availability in each port because my mom has cancer and was having a procedure done during that week and we wanted to keep up to date with everything.

The Dream was next to us

what is that silver thing with the sad face on it?

Sorry, that is Colonel Klink. I introduced him in other reviews and neglected to this time. He was created on the Spirit when we got married (one of Brad's crazy moments) and has come on every cruise with us since. His face is not supposed to be sad, but kind of serious as he is a Colonel ;). He is a great conversation piece. Brad will be fixing his face as we have had a few comments about him looking sad or mad and we can't have that :D.

When we pulled up the internet, we saw that John Heald had responded to our request on FB. Apparently, so did many other people. It is so hard to write something and not have someone misconstrue what is trying to be said. This happens ALL THE TIME on FB and CC. And then you are “flamed” for it as I was in my comment to John. Anyway, it was getting very hot so we decided to go back to the ship after about 2 hours. Of course, we had to wait a while on the tender for it to fill up which didn’t make me feel any better as there was no breeze and the heat was getting tough to handle. We sat all the way up front where the plastic window was open and once we left, the breeze felt really good. We sat next to John, one of the entertainers on board (mostly in the casino) and we had a nice conversation all the way back. He noticed my toes and asked if I would see him later that evening in the casino to take a picture of him with my toes for a contest for the crew. I was happy to help out.

We arrived at the Golden Fleece around 6pm and they asked if we wanted to wait at the bar. We asked if we could be seated early as there was only one other party in there at the time. This was no problem and we were seated at a very nice table for two next to the window. We were able to watch the sunset throughout dinner which was beautiful. The servers asked us several times during dinner if we wanted the curtains closed but we said no because the view was just outstanding.

We started out with a dish that we were told was compliments of the chef. I’ve seen the same thing from others that have posted reviews on CC. I got a tiny bowl of tomato soup, which was cold. Brad said it was suppose to be that way. He got a salmon dish. Not loving fish all that much, he tried it but didn’t really care for it. I tried it also and found it to be a bit “fishy” for me. We were given our choice of rolls and then our order was taken. I got the Lobster Bisque, Petite Filet with Lobster Tail and sautéed mushrooms & onions. Brad got the French Onion soup, Caesar salad, the 25oz. porterhouse with mashed potatoes. That steak was huge!

Where and/or how do you print your casino history?

I just ask at the casino cage or when I'm talking to the casino host later in the week. It takes a bit of time to get it so you might request it at least the morning of the last day on the ship.

Several year ago I won $5500 on 3 different cruises in one year, so I needed it to offset my winnings with the Feds..........and yes your winnings are taxable and they make you fill out a 1099G before they ever payout jackpot winnings..........

On my cruises next week, I'm going to tell Steve the situation with us being on the Triumph the day after the Conquest and see if he can't have my statement ready either by 11pm the last night or delivered to my room with my S&S balance..........

I would also hope he will do something to contact the Host on the Triumph to let him know that I am coming........Since we don't get back from the Conquest until Sunday, and I can't call the CPC until Monday, I'm sure it will take a bit for them to get my rating caught up with me..........

For dessert I got the chocolate sampler and Brad got the cheesecake. The cheesecake was huge also! We both agreed that the food, atmosphere and service were outstanding! This was our first time trying the Steakhouse on any of our cruises and it definitely will not be our last.

A couple of observations regarding the Steakhouse – during dinner there was a magician walking around and stopping at each table to show his card tricks. To us (plz remember this is only our opinion) this should not be part of this type of dining experience. We had seen magicians in the MDR on past cruises but never expected to see one in the Steakhouse, unless it was for entertainment for the people waiting at the bar for their table to be ready. In that situation, we had no problem. The only other thing we did notice was the way some people dressed (jeans, t-shirt, sneakers). Quite frankly, we were shocked. No it certainly didn’t ruin our meal but it’s just not appropriate. Again, I’m sure I will catch some flaming for this as it actually sounds like we are quite snobby, but I can assure you that is not the case. I can only attribute how we feel from how we were raised and what was instilled in us growing up.

They did the same thing to me on the Triumph. I woke up in the middle of the night with chest pain and palpitations when I called they were far more concerned with telling me the cost than with what might be wrong with me.

Then they said is would be cheaper if they sent my room steward to get me and bring me down to the infirmary. So if something was really wrong with me (thank God it turned out ok) what medical training does my room steward have??

This was especially disconcerting to me as a young women in the cabin next to us had passed away the first night of the cruise....

I have to agree that the steak house should be different kind of experience. I feel a dress code of something should be enforced there.

Last time we dined in a steak house-- it was called the Supper Club and there was a huge family around us that I swear looked like they just came from the pool area. her dress- the terry cloth cover up complete with hood.

Boys looked like they just took their last dive - their hair were soaked and matted to their heads.

it was not a nice experience.. and will not be paying 60.00 plus tip for the same ambiance I can get in the dining room

So disappointed with how this pic came out - the hostess took it. Oh well!

After dinner, we headed to the casino. Later that evening they started the Slots-o-Prizes and my name was picked first. Hmmm….I was actually shocked but then noticed that the Casino Manager that came up to me, had a piece of paper with my name preprinted out on it with what looked like my play for the past few days. Then I thought to myself that this was a strange coincidence. But I played and won a free 8X10 photo. I felt that the Casino employees were actually hovering over me (everyone but David – he was no where to be found) and later Brad told me that Mustafa spent a good amount of time with him too. All this, we later found out, was due to John Heald sending some emails to certain individuals on the ship. We went to bed around 1:30am and were really looking forward to Roatan, our very favorite port.
