carncruiser1964 Posted October 27, 2011 Author #176 Share Posted October 27, 2011 We went in a cute little shop and I bought a dress. I also almost fell here because I didn’t seem to notice the very BIG sign that says “Watch Your Step”. While we were in this store the skies opened up and it started pouring. It didn’t look like it was going to let up for a while so we started to make our way back to the tender. By the time we got there, the rain had let up some, but we were still soaked. carncruiser1964 Posted October 27, 2011 Author #180 Share Posted October 27, 2011 We arrived back on the ship and went to our room to shower and change for the evening. We decided to go to the MDR and check the menu. Nothing appealed to us so we decided to skip dinner tonight. We met up with Jimmy & Lillian and they said that they were going to skip dinner that night too.
carncruiser1964 Posted October 27, 2011 Author #181 Share Posted October 27, 2011 We went to the casino and played for quite a while. Around 9pm Brad came to check on me and I told him I was really hungry so off to the 24 hr pizza he went. He came back with 2 freshly made slices of cheese pizza. Normally, on other ships, we were told that we could not eat while we were playing, but Mustafa gave me the go ahead, so that definitely was a plus that night. That was just enough to re-energize myself for a while. Brad came over to me a while later and stood behind me, just watching me play. Brad lit a cigarette and was quickly (and very rudely) told from one of the technicians that he was not allowed to smoke unless he was playing at a designated smoking machine. Brad & I both looked around and saw at least 5 other people standing in the walkway of the casino all smoking and definitely not playing but nothing was said to them. OMG! I thought Brad was going to explode so I was very happy that almost at the same time the slot machine next to me became free and Brad sat down there and started playing it. Aaawww yes, another frustrating day in the casino. We went to bed around 3am.
GeorgiaMomof4 Posted October 27, 2011 #182 Share Posted October 27, 2011 OP - About any flaming and negative posts - just shrug it off! This was YOUR cruise, is YOUR review based on YOUR experiences. You are just telling us what happened on your cruise - not that it's going to be that way for everyone. As far as I'm concerned we should just be thankful that you are taking the time to do the review. They are very time consuming and I'm thankful when someone does one because it gives me different insights to each ship. I won't book a cruise or not book a cruise based on someone's review because I know we are all different and what you might not enjoy or be up to par for you - might be fine for my family. Just remember what they say about opinions - they are like ***holes - everyone has one! Keep going - I am enjoying it as I'm sure many others are! misstopgun Posted October 27, 2011 #185 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Oh No! You stopped. lol Guess I will check in later because regardless of the opinions of some, your review is worth the wait. We were on the the Legend after you, Sept. 15th and had a lovely time. We, like you spend a lot of time in the casinos. Is Lorraine the bubbly black woman who would "rub some luck" on you? It didn't work but she was the best part of our casino experience! So much energy and cute as a button! She ran the slot tourney on our cruise. I don't remember David so either he wasn't there or he didn't make much of a impression. We remeber Mustufa well. We had met him on a previous cruise. Looking forward to the rest of your review so hurry up already. Just kidding. take as long as you like. I am sure most of us feel that way so don't let the few rudies deter you. blueridge20 Posted October 27, 2011 #187 Share Posted October 27, 2011 I wasn't going to comment on your review, but I feel compelled since you are receiving some negative comments. I have enjoyed it very much. I love reading reviews with pics! I have sailed on Carnival several times, but we are now fans of Princess. We sailed a similar itinerary in April on the Crown Princess. We don't gamble, but don't blame you for being disappointed. When you are eligible for certain rewards, you should get them, and everyone is entitled to common courtesy!! Take your time posting, it's my understanding that you can only post a certain number of pictures at a time, so it can be very time consuming. We all thank you for your efforts:D:D
crusinpsychRN Posted October 27, 2011 #188 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Actually, I think the OP is just a narcissistic idiot. Nothing she's bitched about so far equals a flea on a rat's butt. Yeah, nice pics, but since the whole review is on the computer at work (and she's AT work), why doesn't she just upload it. Some of us have better things to do. Leaving on my 7th Legend cruise this Sunday, and I agree, the food is wishy-washy, Mahogany Bay is nice - and for the folks that think Roatan is beautiful, I guess you've never docked at Coxen Hole. Get over yourself and post the whole review and be done with it! Did you forget to get up on the right side of the bed? Calling the kettle black. RMM34667 Posted October 27, 2011 #189 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Hopefully you are taking a quick break to get some work done (and not stopped due to uncalled for negative comments). I'm lucky my boss is cool too.. One day he told me if he had a nickle for every time I visited a cruise related website he'd be rich. And.. In my opinion the Casino is a BIG part of my cruise experience. I probably don't spend as much as you and Brad.. But I do spend my share. And when you are used to the Casino treating you like a valued customer, anything less is not acceptable. I am still anxiously awaiting the rest of the story! cruisingagentone Posted October 27, 2011 #192 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Pay no attention to what Clamshell said. My opinion is they are jealous. You and your husband are a nice looking couple who like to have fun and do things together. Just my 2 cents worth:)
jhale Posted October 27, 2011 #193 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Really enjoying your review, definitely worth the wait! I too suffer from anxiety (panic disorder actually) so I know how frustrating it is when an attack comes on when on the ship. I always tell myself, you're on a cruise, what's your problem?? lol Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip :D
serene56 Posted October 27, 2011 #194 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Note – The link on CC that has the PDF’s of all the new menus are not necessarily in the daily order they are served. For instance, this night was the 5th night of the cruise but the menu that we had was listed as the 6th night in the link. I wonder if it depends on the sailing. I see some sailings are the backwards of your sailing. (example- our last port is Roatan)
We<3WDW Posted October 27, 2011 #195 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Thanks for the review. We are planning this cruise 4.8.12 with our 13 year old daughter. Can I ask why you would not do the extended balcony again? I am deciding between that and a regular balcony. Extended would be great since there are 3 of us but it looks like the way they are set back from the regular ones that the view and breeze would be blocked. B and C Blake Posted October 27, 2011 #196 Share Posted October 27, 2011 I am really enjoying your review. We are sailing on Legend in August. This will be our 2nd cruise so I am absorbing all I can for our 'new' adventure, LOL I do have a question though ... in Cozumel are the bike 'taxi??' guys near the ship when disembarking or are they only around when returning? OOPS OK 2 questions, LOL At Roatan .. the bridge going over to the beach is that up the hill or can you take the chairs to by-pass the hill? My husband has walking issues and if he doesn't need to take his scooter off the ship he doesn't want to. I don't think it would work on the hill if it's too steep. YES, Lorraine is the bubbly one you spoke of and we were soooo upset that we missed her by one week. We keep in contact through FB. Her husband is a dealer, mostly craps and is very nice as well. The bike taxi's are there waiting for you as soon as you get off the ship and are waiting for your return. The flying chairs do by-pass the the bridge and have a really pretty view. carncruiser1964 Posted October 27, 2011 Author #200 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Day 7 – Sea Day We got up around 8am and headed to the Lido Deck for breakfast. I thought I would try the scrambled eggs again, but they were the same as the other day. Brad really didn’t want to lay out so he went to the casino after breakfast and I stayed up on the Lido to relax and enjoy one more day of sun. Around noon, I felt like I was cooked enough and went to the casino to sign up for the slot tournament. Again, we didn’t make it into the finals, but that was ok. We just like playing.
