The Legend Review that I never thought would be posted

Around 2:20pm, I found Brad and we decided to go upstairs to get some lunch. I really wanted a salad, but when we got there, most of the stations were closed. We ended up going to the Deli. Brad got a turkey sandwich and I got a reuben. Both were really, really good. We saw Jimmy & Lillian and they told us about their excursion that they did in Grand Cayman. It was called Explore Cayman by land & sea. They went to the Turtle Farm, which they said was outstanding. They loved being able to hold the turtles. Then they went to Hell, which was small but the rock formations were very interesting. They also went on a semi-submarine and were able to view all kinds of fish and the coral reef. They told us that it was fantastic and well worth the price of $59.95 each.

This was at 3pm. I asked Jimmy if he was going to be able to eat dinner and he said "dinner's not until 8pm! Of course I'll be able to eat."

We went back to our room and there was another message on our phone from Wee Jimmy. He asked us to meet him at the Farewell Party so we could finish our conversation. He also said that there was no dress code and to just come as we were. I called my brother’s room and left him a message about the party and asked if he wanted to join us.

Random pics of the room and from the balcony that day

Love your review and the great pictures. I want to go on the Legend some day. Does this ship have Serenity deck? If so, was it crowded?

I love your red dress; of course red is my favorite color! You all looked gorgeous in your formal attire.

Happy cruising! And thank you for taking the time to post this review.

We headed down to the 2nd floor to the Punchliner’s Lounge around 5:30pm, which is when the party began. The servers were walking all around giving out free drinks. I took a rum punch and Brad got a beer and when we saw that Wee Jimmy had a moment we approached him. He thanked us for coming and said he wanted to introduce us to someone. He motioned an officer to come over to us and said “this is the couple I was telling you about.” The gentleman’s name was Guna Chellam and he was the Hotel Director. Come to find out, he is in charge of pretty much everything on the ship, with the exception of the engine room and the bridge. He wanted to hear from us everything that had happened this week. He and Brad stepped into the hallway outside of the lounge to talk.

Great review. That sucks with all the problems from the casino host. We are going on our 9th cruise Nov. 20 and have never had any problems with a host and hope we never do. Hope you had some luck. PS, I thought I was the only one that saved their towel animals lining them up on the back of the couch and taking pictures of them. Our last cruise in April our room steward kept removing them and reusing the towels for the next animal. But that's a minor detail.

Yes, it does have a Serenity area and yes it was always crowded, except while in port. Thank you so much. The red dress is my favorite.

There are 2 things that we tell the cabin steward on the first day - 1. Please keep the ice bucket full and 2. NEVER take apart the animals for the week :D

Later, we went back to our room to get ready for dinner and begin the sad task of packing. As we were walking to the dining room, we noticed a photographer with a really pretty backdrop, so we stopped and had our picture taken. I still had the 8x10 photo coupon that I won in the casino and figured this would be our last opportunity to use it. We are so glad we did because this is one of our favorite pictures.

I hope you're kidding because if not this has to be one of the most selfish things I have ever seen. She's doing great and right on schedule...HER schedule. How about bookmarking it? There's an idea! Problem solved. Geez.

I am really enjoying your review, but can I ask you to hurry it along some. I leave tomorrow at 10:30 for my next cruises and I'm hoping you will be finished by then......if not I'm sure there is no way I can find it when I return on the 14th.

Good reveiw but I am still trying to figure out what the fuss is about with the Casino. Is there more or did I miss something?

As far as the smoking goes, you can only smoke in designated areas regardless of what others are doing. I don't think that was a big deal.

Thanks for the review. We are planning this cruise 4.8.12 with our 13 year old daughter.

Can I ask why you would not do the extended balcony again? I am deciding between that and a regular balcony. Extended would be great since there are 3 of us but it looks like the way they are set back from the regular ones that the view and breeze would be blocked.

The "extended balconies" on the tail of the ship give you NO shade time coming or going. You get a great view of the ocean no matter what balcony you have. Extended DO give you a bit more "knee room" for coming and going.

Brad lit a cigarette and was quickly (and very rudely) told from one of the technicians that he was not allowed to smoke unless he was playing at a designated smoking machine. Brad & I both looked around and saw at least 5 other people standing in the walkway of the casino all smoking and definitely not playing but nothing was said to them. OMG! I thought Brad was going to explode so I was very happy that almost at the same time the slot machine next to me became free and Brad sat down there and started playing it. Aaawww yes, another frustrating day in the casino.

Yes, the smoking police were out in full force the week after your cruise. There were constant announcements in the casino about how you could only smoke while playing. I saw several people told they couldn't just stand in the casino and smoke. I'm sure it turned off alot of people.

We went in a cute little shop and I bought a dress. I also almost fell here because I didn’t seem to notice the very BIG sign that says “Watch Your Step”. While we were in this store the skies opened up and it started pouring. It didn’t look like it was going to let up for a while so we started to make our way back to the tender. By the time we got there, the rain had let up some, but we were still soaked.

Great review!!!! I'm also the clumsy one in our family. So much so that my wife has to say "step" whenever we come across one. (LOL) Thanks so much for giving us your opinions and (good or not so good) adventures on this cruise. We are cruising on the Legend in February with my brother and his wife. It's our first time but my brother and his wife have been on a few other cruises.

We went to dinner and were pretty disappointed, once again, with the menu. I ordered the prime rib but nothing else really sounded appetizing. I also did have the chocolate melting cake, one last time. We said our good-byes to all the dining staff and then headed to our room to change, finish packing and put our luggage out before making one last trip to the casino.

carncruiser...very nice review. With the exception of your late night run-ins with the Casino Host, sounds like you had a great time. Glad Wee Jimmie and the Casino manager and Hotel Director helped settle things for you, too bad it had to come to that. Your brother looked like he really enjoyed cruising:). Nice Yankee cap, but I wouldn't trade my 1990s blue for it:p

Wow.... how rude!!!! This is HER review and she can take as long as she wants to write and post it. These things take time to write and post. I love your review.. I think you are doing a fantastic job! :)

I can assure you that she was kidding. I've had the pleasure of sailing with her on several occasions and she does not have a mean or selfish bone in her body. I'm thinking she has an interest in the outcome since she spends a great deal of time in the casino herself. It is just so hard to know the intent behind the written word sometimes. That's why I like the smileys. ;)

Since I know her, I would take it as a compliment :p
