The Legend Review that I never thought would be posted

I agree entirely! I wouldn't know what to do if the magician popped up at our table LOL. How odd for an elegant dining experience. In regards to the dress of other diners, I believe that you should dress for the occasion. It is supposed to be an elegant evening. We are booked for the first night of the cruise in the steakhouse and our understanding is that they expect us to be dressed for the venue. I emailed to ask and the suggestion was to wear what we plan to dine in upon embarkation in the event our luggage is not delivered in time. Or to bring our intended outfit in a carryon. I have heard of people being turned away from the steakhouse due to their manner of dress, but maybe those are just tall tales. LOL.

Not taking the sailing you did but I am enjoying your review. And, yes, I too, love the toes.

A couple of observations regarding the Steakhouse – during dinner there was a magician walking around and stopping at each table to show his card tricks. To us (plz remember this is only our opinion) this should not be part of this type of dining experience. We had seen magicians in the MDR on past cruises but never expected to see one in the Steakhouse, unless it was for entertainment for the people waiting at the bar for their table to be ready. In that situation, we had no problem. The only other thing we did notice was the way some people dressed (jeans, t-shirt, sneakers). Quite frankly, we were shocked. No it certainly didn’t ruin our meal but it’s just not appropriate. Again, I’m sure I will catch some flaming for this as it actually sounds like we are quite snobby, but I can assure you that is not the case. I can only attribute how we feel from how we were raised and what was instilled in us growing up.

I guess now I can get some work done. Been in this thread all day hitting refresh to get the latest!

Love the review and dying to hear the rest of the story on the casino. I too have noticed a real difference since the focus is Carnival Player's Club instead of Ocean Player's Club.

Awaiting the rest of your review...biting nails...pacing the room...Oh how will it end? How WILL it end?? ;)

Kidding around...but we ARE on this same cruise on the Legend in January and we DO spend too much time in the casino and don't want to be disappointed that we picked the Legend.

I really do enjoy my relationship with Michael Martinez at the Players Club & need to know how much "confirmations" I need before boarding! I hope this has a happy ending...although, it sounds better already with John Heald on the case!

How do you think I feel? I'm doing this at work. I'm really lucky that my boss is so cool. He doesn't care what I do as long as I get my "work" done.

Come back! It is only early evening! What happened at your meeting? Don't want to wait till tomorrow.

Sorry, going out for Happy Hour with Brad. Lots more to come tomorrow. I really enjoy writing reviews, but this one was very hard to actually post. I wasn't sure what kind of reaction I would receive. I shouldn't really care what others think, but I do.:o

I think what you did by emailing John was fine. People ask him for things all of the time. I think you deserve your players club perks by patronizing the casino. I can't understand why carnival doesn't get with it in regards to this situation. Obviously they want to make money in all venues and they are losing the casino players to other lines that do take care of them. I, too love your pedicure and the review. Can't wait to hear how it turns out. Happy cruising!!!

I was so looking forward to the Legend after all the reviews I had read, however, I also was disappointed with the overall service on the ship. I did not have any casino experiences though, just food and room service.

Loving your review and the pictures. I don't gamble, and I don't drink, but I am lots of fun:D. I am sorry you had a bad time in the Casino area though, as that seems to be what you enjoy doing on a cruise.

I love the Legend as ship, overall though the food has been better on the Fantasy class ships than on the bigger ones to me, and I wont eat on the Lido if I don't have to. I have read on the threads that if you order scrambled or omelet, it will be an egg substitute, so I only eat well fried eggs. I know it's an egg then;).

Can't wait for the outcome, I will visit tomorrow to see how it all turned out. (while I'm at work) (arghh:eek:)

Good review. Since you are sensitive, I will be careful how I put it.

I'm sorry you had casino issues but it's a small part of the cruise even if you love gambling.

Looking forward to the rest of the review. You've got me hooked.

Another reader who is (im)patiently awaiting your next entry.

I don't gamble but my best friend does, and we will certainly cruise together again in the future. Your experience in the casino is of interest to me.

I know that for me, if I feel like I've been treated with less than respect or, even worse, if I felt like I was being treated like I was a problem customer - I might find that upsetting. Even though it doesn't ruin a cruise it does put a damper on things.

Goody........now you can continue :D

We were on the cruise right after yours and spent all our time in the casino and I can't wait to hear the outcome of your casino story!
