I really liked seeing the bridge, but the laundry facility was fascinating! (OK that is just me, I am a big old laundry dork...).

That's exactly why I want to take the tour.... just to see the laundry facility!! lol!

The bridge tours I have done are interesting but it is almost a little bit of a let down, the controls are pretty small and it takes about a minute to see it all.

You do get to ask questions though. The ultimate ship tour will have many other interesting points and that is worth while for sure.

Will be on Ruby in January for our 26th anniversary. I was thinking about booking the anniversary package that includes the bridge tour. Would love any input regarding the bridge tour. Thanks for your help!!!

I thought the UST was very nice although expensive. The bridge is interesting. Be prepared to walk and climb stairs for about 3 hours. The terry cloth robe and chef's coat that they give you will take up a lot of packing room (especially if you have 2 ). I am glad we did it but once is enough. You need to go to the Purser's desk to sign up. If 12 or 13 people do not sign up they will cancel it. They usually do it toward the end of the cruise. Enjoy!

I assume you are talking about the Ultimate Ship Tour. It is much more than a bridge tour, although that is included. I believe it is $150 per person.

No, the OP is talking about the Deluxe Honeymoon/Anniversary Package which includes a bridge tour.

OP, if you have any interest at all as to how the ship functions, the bridge tour is for you. I've been on a few and it's always fascinating (but then, I love that kind of stuff...).

Here's a set that I took on board Sapphire Princess.

My niece and I received a special invitation to see the bridge on the Sapphire back in 2005. We had met a couple of officers in Skywalkers and they sent an invitation to our cabin. It wasn't part of a tour but there were about 10 or 15 other people there with invitations. We loved seeing the bridge. It was really interesting We did get to spend quite a bit of time speaking with the officers that were on the bridge that day

The only thing I would is that it looks like there is a $300.00 difference between the standard package and the deluxe one you are considering. Even though I loved seeing the bridge I wouldn't pay an extra $300.00 to see it. But, you know your budget and your husband. It may be worth it to him.

Enjoy your cruise!

Having done both types of packages I would recommend the UST. It is a comprehensive behind-the-scenes tour that takes you all over the ship. The best part of being on the bridge is the view, and once we were lucky enough to be escorted by a pod of dolphins in the bow wave. I don't think we'd have seen that from any other location on the ship.
