What exactly is Concierge Class?

Our TA has recommended Concierge Class. Can someone tell me what exactly that provides me?

Below is a link to the benefits of Concierge Class. Some of the benefits from experience don't exist and some are available to all classes of cabins. I personally do not see a big deal with the benefits but that's me. I find the expanded breakfast the best benefit. The big difference in Concierge depends on the ships that you sail.

If you are on a M class ship (Millenium, Summit, Infinity, Constellation) the cabins are generally larger as well as the verandas. On the S class ships (Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette and Reflection) the rooms may be in a better locations but the cabins and verandas are generally the same on all ships.

Very often the prices are similiar but I would definitely ask your TA about AQua Class cabins. They get all the benefits of Concierge and their own benefits which include dining in Blu which is a huge benefit...

Hi Wrg11,

On board Celebrity Ships there are 6 classes of Cabins / Staterooms they are… Inside – Oceanview – Veranda – Concierge – Aqua – and Suites

Concierge & Aqua are both Veranda Staterooms each with a few additional benefits (upgraded amenities).

I refer you to Celebrity’s Website UK Website for more information (as they seem to have the nicest explanation)…

Celebrity Cruises (Concierge Class) = http://www.celebritycruises.co.uk/life-onboard/accommodation/celebrity-concierge/

Celebrity Cruises Aqua Class offers all of the above amenities plus some that are geared towards the Spa Lifestyle (Location on ship close to the Spa – Complimentary Bottled Water – Complimentary Admission to the Persian Gardens at the Spa – Assistance with making Spa Appointments – and a Healty-Choice Dining Room called Blu)

Celebrity Cruises (Aqua Class) = http://www.celebritycruises.co.uk/life-onboard/accommodation/solstice-aquaclass/

There are MANY past topics here on the CC CELEBRITY BOARD on this topic, and the ongoing discussion on which is preferred, WHY and by WHO (the BOARD is searchable, you can always find those past topics)

What I will say, is in regards to size of the cabins, location etc they don’t offer much more than the Veranda Staterooms (on the Solstice Class Ships... all the staterooms Except the Suites have Staterooms that are 194 Square Feet no matter what class you are in) … either you like the extra amenities that being offered or you don’t, and either you are willing to pay the difference in pricing or you won’t…

In our case, we were able to snag a Concierge Class Cabin midship (C2) on an upcoming sailing of the Solstice for only $ 20 more per person (PLUS the extra 50 cents per day for Gratuities) so getting an Upgrade at less than $ 50 overall for the cabin for the week, was a no-brainer for us… the “wine & food” amenities (Welcome Bottle of Champagne, Fruit Basket, Daily Hors D'Ouevres) alone work out to be more than that $ 50 (ie the price of a Bon Voyage Package)

Hope this is helpful

Cheers!

There are bargains out there for all cabins, CC and AQ are not exceptions. Occasionally you can get the AQ for less than CC. I am not a fan of CC unless the price is about the same but am a big fan of AQ at a good price due to Blu. Some of the Blu benefits mentioned are advertising hype such as the assistance with Spa appointments. If you are afraid of Blu because they advertise "healthy" I did not find this to necessarily be the case but the food is cooked in its own galley and served in a more intimate venue.

Just to point out I have been in both CC cabins and AQ cabins...

I got an email from Celebrity on some special prices on some cruises the other day. So I started looking at 7 day Alaska pricing for this summer. In nearly every case Concierge Class was more than the new Aqua Class. Sometimes it was hundreds of dollars more. Maybe they value the re-configured Aqua Class on the M ships as below the Concierge Class. I have given up trying to figure out their pricing.

TO FBLACK,

I think the hierarchy remains the same (so Aqua Class is valued more than C-Class) BUT with the new ships being refigured there are now more Aqua Class Cabins than C-Class Cabins in many cases, and that will certainly affect initial offerings in regards to pricing I would think.

I've been looking at pricing fairly carefully these last 7 months, and I'd say that at times one is more than the other (and it can switch back and forth between them) but overall Aqua consistently demands more more of the time.

Lol, I reread this, and I certainly hope you get the gist of what I was trying to say

Basically they are trying to fill up Aqua Class one way or another... if one pays more for C-Class and then is visited by the UPGRADE FAIRY later on when the prices fall (switch) the cruise line comes out ahead and can continue to fill up the remaining Aqua's at a higher price, and fill up any C-Classes at the lower price.

Cheers!

That is great. I didn't think that it is really an express service. Wonderful - I feel the same like your wife!

Hold the phone here. That is one of the nebulous amenities they list that at least in my experience is not all that it appears to be. I have gotten my luggage at about the same time whether I was in a standard veranda, AQ, CC or FV! At least don't let that be the deciding factor in the cabin you book. Just like express boarding, seating preference, etc.--does not mean much at all in reality.

My DH wants to go Aqua Class from now on because of the fantastic showers. we were just on the Equinox TA and I'm positive that he took s minimum of 4 showers every day-- I'll have to admit, they are the best showers of any cruise line that we have ever been on.

Concierge rooms have a benefit that my dw finds invaluable - express luggage delivery. Once aboard she can't begin to relax and enjoy herself until we receive our bags. The longer they take the more nervous she gets. Express delivery gives her peace of mind.

I sound just like your wife. Twice I have received my piece of luggage just before they dropped the ropes for sailaway... it's definitely nerve wracking waiting for that luggage to arrive. It's always nice to just get settled and start your vacation once you've unpacked.

On our last two cruises we were in a CC cabin and our luggage didn't arrive until 7:30 pm so the "express " service is in the category of maybe you'll get it and maybe you won't.

On the Century, the standard balcony cabins are all on Level 8 which is directly above the casino, bars, etc. We had that location once and the noise at night was terrible. Today we were lucky enough (even though it's Friday the 13th!) to get a Concierge cabin, one level up, for the same price as the standard balcony. Always check what's above and below you when deciding on a cabin.
