Princess Hotel to Cruise Port Transfers (FLL)

We are sailing on the Ruby 2/26 and booked a pre-cruise stay at the Embassy Suites in FLL that includes a Princess transfer to the port. I have only done the transfers from port to the airport in the past and did not have a great experience, a lot of waiting and waiting and waiting. Does anyone have any experience with their (Princess) hotel to port transfers in FLL, is it worth taking it or would we be better off getting a taxi? Does the bus stop at other hotels on the way to the port?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

We did this a couple of years ago (except it was from the Renaissance)

We put our luggage out in the morning and then, as you said, waiting, waiting and more waiting.

We finally got sick of it, told the Princess rep we needed to be on the ship (so they wouldn't off load our luggage) and took a taxi to the ship!

It was actually nice not shlepping the luggage but my advice would be if you can cancel you should just do this yourself. A taxi is about $10 to the ship!

We just got off the Emerald and took a independent shuttle service van from the ship to the FLL airport. Princess charges $18pp for their shuttle. We paid $10 per person. We found this shuttle as soon as we disembarked and headed toward the taxi line. Our group 'Yellow-4' was off the ship a bit after 8am. We were at the airport before 9am after clearing customs, which was our longest 'wait'. The Princess buses were still staged and waiting.

Take a taxi from Embassy; will cost $10. Beats waiting around for shuttle and you can leave when you want to leave. Shuttle doesn't stop anywhere, since it's not even large enough to take everyone staying there at the same time.

We stayed with Princess at the Marriott Ft. Lauderdale, and though it was wonderful having Princess take care of everything, the waiting became ridiculous. In the morning, we had breakfast and proceeded to sit in the lobby for 3 hours!!!!! No announcements were made, and everyone grew agitated. When it was finally time, there was a gigantic line. The cake topper was having a group of 30 sing "99 Bottles of Beer" the entire drive to the port!! My husband was NOT in a happy mood after all of that! Sooo, never again; take a taxi and smile over lunch by the pool as you watch coach after coach deliver passengers all afternoon! You'll save time and increase relaxation! Happy cruising!

You did not say what time you ate breakfast, but if you were finished by 8 AM, you would had to wait somewhere.

If you took a taxi to the port and arrived by 8:30, there would still be a three hour wait until you could check in.

Bill. the Marriott that Princess uses is far away from the port. Taking a taxi is ridiculous, but yes, the bus doesn't get there until noon or beyond.

I always book a hotel that has free airport shuttle and free cruiseport shuttle. When you check in, you sign up for a shuttle time. They will have different shuttles for the different cruise lines, so you only stop one place. EM
