citrusflorida Posted March 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2012 Hello, Can someone explain to me why an 8 night Eastern Caribbean sailing on the IOS in January would be $799 for an inside cabin? Seems high to me. I have looked on several other sites and for those that do have this cruise it is pretty much all the same price. Any thoughts? TIA
tigstoy Posted March 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2012 We booked the 8 night Eastern Caribbean balcony in December 2012 instead of January 2013 because of the price difference. My first preference was January to get away from the cold and break up the winter more but Dec worked for us because our anniversary is Nov 30 and the cruise is Dec 8. My guess is because there are more people booking in January instead of early Decemer because the US holidays.
citrusflorida Posted March 21, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted March 21, 2012 We wanted the December 2012 sailing also, but BIL and SIL cannot go in December, so January was our only choice.

Ashland Posted March 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Sounds extremely reasonable to me. Last March 2011 we booked our adult children in an inside LOS 8 night eastern caribbean and it was $649.00pp....
sbowen Posted March 21, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2012 IOS is a Freedom class ship and from what I have seen the bigger the ship, the bigger the price... She is worth it though, IOS is beautiful. My husband and I spent Christmas on her.
pcur Posted March 21, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2012 January is still considered high season, while March is starting to get muggy and wetter. I figure nowadays anything that's $100 per day per person is about average. I looked for lower, but that's average.
sail2sea Posted March 21, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Indy is the newest ship after Allure and Oasis and the price is still high. My buddies got a JS on NOS, the same 8 day itinerary, $999. Lucky dogs.
Virtopia Posted March 21, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2012 That sounds to be about right; I know some 10 day sailings start at about $899. I lucked out when I got my single supplement for under $1,000.
