Verizon service area

Our Alaska cruise is out of Seattle and will take us to Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. Does Verizon have service in those areas that will not involve roaming?
Your best bet is to check with Verizon as it'll depend on your service plan.

My Verizon Moto Android phone had zero problems in any of the ports we got to in Alaska. For that matter I have signal within like a 10 - 15 mile radius of the main Alaska highways while in the Interior.

so don't worry about it.

Verizon told me that Alaska is included for our nationwide voice, text and data. No roaming. (I sure hope that's right!)

Before making any calls, just look at your phone to make sure you are on Verizon's network.

Also, if you venture into Canada while on the cruise, don't forget that's international roaming... so watch your phone real close.

Just shut your phone off when your ship is not tied to land :) that what I did.

I had no problem using my Verizon phone last year IN PORT. No chrge. I was on Amsterdam and went to many ports

Seattle,Ketchikan,Juneau,Icy Strit Port, Anchorage,Homer,Kodak,Sikta. I shut off my phone when ship was not in port. I could call on board on ship when in port at no charge,

I called Verizon and was told with my plan I would receive a text message if the roaming went to a tower that wasn't in the US. I was also told to update my phone before I left home to get current tower info in the phone.

They also gave me the cost information for the ship I am on, cost of text messages ect.

It was worth the call for the piece of mind.
