Live From Carnival Breeze: Questions, Comments, Cocktails on Me?

I read a few weeks ago that there would be a 5 D movie theater on the Breeze. I do not see any indoor movie theater on the deck plans. I got excited watching the video about it. Where is it on the ship or is there one???

4D, 5D, 11D + D -- liver response may be considered a dimension at the RedFrog Pub at 1 a.m. But regardless of what Carnival is calling it, there is indeed a specially outfitted theater on Breeze. I'm scheduled to test drive it Wednesday morning, the first sea day.

When it's nearing 90 degrees in the Mediterranean, a "dump bucket" becomes more than just a slightly unfortunate word pairing. Amid the ship's top deck twister and bowl slides, Carnival Breeze's "Power Drencher" fills up at a just-minding-my-own-business sort of pace until … it reverses poles, sending forth a biblical deluge of water onto would-be water sliders. You could just make out the yelps of delight a couple decks above at the Serenity Deck, an adults-only space where nappers lounged on oversized hammocks and wicker loungers.

I was going to ask the same question.

I searched the deck plans again but didn't see the 5 D theater. Let us know where it is located. We are excited about our 10th Carnival cruise next May on the Breeze!!!:)

There is a promenade on Deck 4 now as well as deck 5. Deck 4 has all the kids places (Camp Carnival, O2, Circle C, and the arcade) It has the upstairs of the mid dining room, as well as 2 sections of the Library and the permanent art gallery and a confrence room. The theater is in the middle, near the conference room, and art galllery. It is very small

I believe the Thrill Theater as it's known only seats 24 people at each show.

I think it would be similar to those simulator rides where the seats move etc, hence the size difference to a regualr cinema.

Can't wait to test it out tho. Hope Dan gets to check it out for us.

Great job Dan.

What are the cost options for the Theater, I know it is an extra!

Hope you're enjoying your cruise so far! Thanks for taking the time to post and answer questions! Here are a few I was wondering about:

Does the ship seem crowded anywhere?

How is the flow in the Lido Marketplace?

Is there a long line for the rope course or waterslides?

Is the aft Lido pool adults only like on the Spirit class ships?

TIA

Carnival has laundry facilities on all its ship -- a nice touch, and, as the king of the three- and four-night cruise, a feature they need less than, say, Celebrity, which makes you shell out for its exorbitantly priced pressing service. On Breeze, Launderettes or simple "ironing rooms" are located on almost every deck containing cabins (nothing on the two decks housing spa cabins, but there aren't many cabins on said decks). It's $3 for a wash, $2.75 for a dry and $1.50 for detergent; hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. I packed about five days' worth of clothes, so if I can't manage to recycle without sending noses a-twitch, I may be heading there in the next few days. The picture doesn't tell the story. The three stacks of two have all been in use the handful of times I've poked my head in.

Laundry..heck no...I'm on vacation!!

I always pack an extra duffle sort of bag.. and put all the dirty laundry in it!

Thats the bag that I secretly hope gets lost at the airport on our return flight home :D

It does look like a great facility though! Thanks for posting the picture!!!!!

My wife are considering ... but have not committed to the first USA based 6 day sailing from Miami on December 6. I'd prefer the ports of call for the previous sailing on Nov 24, but being Thanksgiving weekend, and the cost ... I'll forego that - as the real desire is to see what the Breeze is like. Of concern is that even in 6 days we will not see all she has to offer. (We have 19 cruise days now, so this will seal us at Gold with a total of 25 cruise days.)

First 6 day sailing out of Miami is on the 2nd of December!

I will defo be in there especially having 2 teenagers with me.

Dan can I pick your brains re: Internet last year we went on Royal Caribbean in Europe we purchased a European booster from our UK network but we could only use onshore as once the ship pulled away our phones told us 'welcome to America!'

I'm wondering if I buy a USA booster if this will work, are you using your US Internet or the one purchased through Carnival?? Hope that makes sense:/

marseilles-france-cruise-port-collage.jpg

Breeze landed today in Marseilles, an increasingly popular port both for embarks and traditional calls. When visiting Marseilles, many of us take the opportunity to immediately leave Marseilles -- we jettison to Provence, Arles or Avignon, South France destinations with fewer cranes, chain link, concrete and container ships.

That's being a bit too harsh -- Marseilles is one of the Med.'s biggest working ports, but the city proper outside the industrial seaside dock offers knife-wielding fishmongers slicing filets from enormous haunches, cafes hawking regional specialties like seafood bouillabaisse, aioli and moules et frites, and the ever-present cliff top vision, the Basilica Notre Dame de la Garde.

Ships dock a few miles outside of town, so the lines provide frequent shuttle bus service (6 euro each way for us) and a handful of cabs show up pierside. I took the shuttle, wandered aimlessly (but always upwardly) until I reached the Notre Dame, a mid-19th century basilica that offers 360-degree views of the sprawling city and Mediterranean Sea. (A kitchy "choo-choo" or bus will get you to all but 170-odd steps of the way there.) Staring down, it was easy to imagine why this was a strategic post in WWII, and a plaque reports that one of the walls bears the marks of the liberation of Marseilles from August 1944. After stumbling and sweating up, I shambled down to the the Port Vieux marina area for some moules et frites, the former smothered with a piquant, garlicky tomato sauce and served in a faux-cast iron pot. With a beer, it was 18 euro (about $23.50 with the current rate), which came with a view of the Notre Dame, lots of construction and pleasure boats bobbing on marina. I also sat near a woman who said she was a psychic. She told a neighbor that her dead relatives missed her.

Is the ship sailing at full capacity? Does it seem crowded?

Have had a few queries about crowding. The approach to space on Breeze is quite different from Magic and especially Dream, which has had its share of crowding issues. (We're going to publish a 'first impression' long-form piece over on the blog tomorrow, which will go into the spacing stuff.) It's hard for me to give you a decent answer yet, as I've only been on for sailaway, with its typical frenzy and flurry, and a port day. Should have a better feel by day four or five. Bookcreator or someone on the June 3 12-nighter might have a more conclusive opinion.

You can smoke in:

*Cabin balconies (except Cloud 9 Spa Cabins)

*The entire outside Lanai on Deck 5

*Deck 11 forward, portside (near the Ping-Pong tables)

*Liquid Disco (when it's open)

*Port side of the casino bar and at selected tables/slots

As a smoker.. this is more than enough places to smoke! Thanks :)

This is interesting since John Heald announced that they would be allowing smoking on the forward and aft portions of Lido, portside...so this is not the case?

Thanks for providing the pics and the answers for us! Much appreciated!:)
