littlefishes Posted September 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Which are the best ships to go on if you want a relaxed dress code. We don't want a cruise where you have to dress up every night or any night if we don't want to.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Try NCL.
paul929207 Posted September 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Actually, most lines do not require you to dress up. On many, you will have to eat in the buffet or get room service if you want to wear shorts and similar. Most of the mainstream lines will have one or two dressy nights per week. Many people skip the MDR those nights.

We don't want a cruise where you have to dress up every night or any night if we don't want to. You could not dress up on any night on most cruise lines......but some itineraries will be more casual than others. So: Where do you want to go, and what else do you want in a cruise (luxury, budget, mega-ship, small ship, etc)? Start with that, and you'll find options for relaxed attire to fit your other preferences.
rvsullivan Posted September 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Never dress up on any ship or any venue on the ship= NCL.:D
Rare Hlitner Posted September 22, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Besides NCL......Azamara, Windstar and Oceania have no formal nights. Hank
cb at sea Posted September 22, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2012 NCL is the most casual line, followed by Carnival. All of the other mainstream lines will have "formal" nights, but you don't HAVE to participate. There are other eating venues you can utilize if you'd feel out of place not being dressed properly on the formal eveings.

Depends on how relaxed dress code you want Oceania requires you to look smart in the evenings for the dining venues No shorts, t-shirts jeans etc... You can wear dress slack & nice top/shirt It is more casual but not sloppy
SMerritt Posted September 22, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2012 NCL has Casual Cruising - No formal nights, Leave the gowns, suits and ties home In the evenings we do "clean up" a little bit, men = collared golf or tommy bahama-like shirt. Me = slacks with a sparkly tank top and silver sandals
