Articles left on ship - ever retrieved?

I just got off Carnival Paradise and discovered that I must have left one drawer still holding some of my things - not valuable but I would still like to have them back. I tried to reach Carnival but office hours start Monday. Does anybody think I have any chance at all of seeing my things again? Any suggestions of what to do next?:(

Try contacting Special Services. We left a Kindle on the Breeze this summer. Carnival told us that the chances of our getting it back were very slim, but still possible. Give it a shot. You may get lucky. (We were not, darn it...)

Best wishes.

edit: I just looked at the email we received after contacting Carnival. I have copied it for you. Hope it helps.

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for choosing Carnival for your vacation.

We are very sorry to hear of your missing Kindle. Our records show a case has been opened for you. As of today, it has not been located. Should it be found within 30 days of your return date, we will contact you to schedule delivery.

We hope you enjoyed your time with us and look forward to welcoming you aboard in the very near future.

Sincerely,

My mom left a ring in our safe on our cruise. She did realize before we flew home but they were able to recover it and they mailed it to her a few weeks later. It can happen! My best suggestion is to jot down a quick "reminder" list of where you have stored things. That way when you are packing up at the end you can glance at it to make sure you haven't forgotten anything. For future reference...

Thank you for posting the information. I just called the contact number you gave me and they took my info and said they will call me if the articles are turned in. They will keep my case open for thirty days. Here's hoping.

I'm glad your Mom got her ring back and I did think I had checked everything out but I missed the little desk drawer!! I learned a lesson for next time - I'm sure I won't do it again. I've been on quite a few cruises and never left anything until now. Thanks for replying.

Last cruise I found a medium size zipped bag in the under counter cabinet and turned it in to guest solutions. They said they would look up who was in the cabin previously and return it to them.

I wish the cabin stewards would check all the drawers because once I found an empty rubber wrapper and was not too thrilled.

i worked for celebrity cruises for 2 years a long while ago and had given out my email address to all that I enjoyed serving.... I received several emails from guests missing things, pillows, stuffed animals, scarfs, etc..... i was able to retrieve a scarf and get it mailed back to the proper owner..... it is tough but always a chance u just have to be patient and know it probably isnt likely.... most crew members are honest and would turn it in!

Wow - you've seen both sides of the cruise scene!! I've called Carnival and now I just have to wait. As I said, the articles were not valuable, just important to me and I've only myself to blame. I'm sure I will be more careful next time.

We check every drawer/shelf, and then ... check them again.

Good luck OP! As you've read some get things returned, and some do not.

We usually do too. But I left my camera in my robe pocket hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I checked and double checked the drawers, shelves, etc. But I didn't think to check the pocket of my robe.

I had put the camera in the robe pocket when I went to the spa to take some pictures of all heated tile lounger room, etc.

So far I haven't gotten the camera back. We returned on Sept. 1.
